comfort access question
How do you save your seating position as part of comfort access? Is it automatic?

My understanding is that your seating position is saved into your remote wether you have comfort access option or not (with electric seats with memory). The position is saved to your remote as you change it.
You can select the option to automatically return the seat to the last position or not.

MrBlonde - where do you select the option automatically? By inserting the key into the car?

After you have done your seat and mirror adjustments, press the M button on the drivers side seat controls, then you will see an LED. Press either 1 or 2 to set those settings to the appropriate key number.

Don't forget guys, it doesn't save it to the key, it saves it to the car and just associates the settings with the current key (as I see it, anyway)

Lets face it, how long is it going to be before we have the same type of thing using fingerprints and or facial recognition?

I suppose from my experience, CA is as reliable as finger print reg --> good most of the time but it's a bit of hit and miss.
I ended up have to hang my keys round my neck for it to work almost 100% - well, I might as well use the remote but I still use CA and rave about it

For my car I had to go into my iDrive settings menu and opt for the car to remember last seat position. Once I did this it remembers my seat position for my key. My wife didnt do this yet and her key does not cause her seat to move. I really like the feature though, when the wife takes the car out she puts the seat waaay forward, when I unlock the seat starts its long journey to last position I had it.

My car seat goes back to where you left the seat last when using that specific key (as well as settings for mirrors, radio stations, etc, etc). So, if I move the seat to one of the memory settings but then move it again forward, the seat will go back to that position the next time I open the car with that key (assuming someone has moved the seat in between using the other key). Who is using your car and moving the seat? I thought I was extra careful when I snuck it back into your garage............

You can always press the "memory" button on your seat to get your saved settings, but if you set up the "return to previous position" option then when you unlock your car or when you open the driver's door (depends on setting you select) then seat will return without you having to press the seat button.
