okay thanks will have another look but there was a total gap underneath mine above the third brake light area where obviously the 3m would not make contact with the car bootlid. will let you know how I get on ?!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but after reading 2 pages of the posts, I am still unsure if an e82 spoiler fits e88 and if there are any e88 100% fit non-OEM spoiler available? No one ever posted a pic of what the "gap" looks like when using non-OEM. I'm not even sure where to buy the OEM e88 CF spoiler these days.

I tried the $88 ebay spoiler. I couldn't make it work. I bought the OEM CF spoiler for $250 used from a forum member.

I'm looking into this too. I found a local OE E82 spoiler used that I might try to fit my E88. Does anyone have photos of fitment and potentially the fitment issues? Curious how far back the spoiler has to be mounted to avoid the gap. Thanks all!

It's not just the fore/aft adjustment, it's also the curvature of the trunk. If you're handy with a heat gun and good at making things work that they aren't designed for, you might make it work.

I found onon amazon.com that claims to fit perfectly on both 82s and 88s will post part# whenever I get it.
