-The headlights are bigger than I'd like (minor complaint)
-Run flats only
-Would prefer 4 doors, non-hatch, but I'll live
-Would like a limited slip diff
-I don't think it's a for sure thing, but if the sunroof is mandatory in the U.S., I won't be really happy, only for headroom reasons

Still, I dont know if I would classify the Astra as a "good" handling car, but I wouldnt classify it as bad. It is just average.

It's besides the point, though, as I have do think that American cars, in some cases, are producing better lineups than their competitors.

BMW supposedly is going to introduce an all-new 1 series coupe in 2011 that will conform more closely to the original 2002, possibly to include round tail lights.

I'm conflicted about what to do for a new car. I'm keeping my e46 for another three years, and maybe longer. I may just skip the e90/92 and wait for the next generation 3 series. I really want an all-wheel-drive 3 sedan, but the e90 is gawd awful looking, IMO.

Not sold on the 1 though.

Why are you on this board? Did you come on this board to whine.? BMW is is not going to redesign a car 3 years after it's debut. MAYBE a face-lift but not a full re-design. No car manufactuer does that.

^FWIW... It could be argued that the coupe is the face-lift.
The hatch has been around for a while now.

What's with all these "why are you on this board" comments?!

This thread asks if there is "anything you don't like about the 1series coupé", so it's not suprising that there are some negative comments!

Maybe we should have a "what do you love about the 1 series coupé" thread to balance the negativity out?

I don't have a problem with a couple issues. But dudes are coming on here dissing the whole car. If you don't like the car...Why are you on this board? How you gonna come onto a 1Addicts board and say you don't like the car or you're not sold on the 1 series. I'm sorry, I'm a with us or a against us type guy. Like said before it's ok to have a couple issues with the car. But it all come down to this. Are you gonna get one or not.

I have to strongly disagree. This is a public forum, people can come and go as they please, and as the other member posted, this is a post specifically geared towards dislikes of the car.

This is it - the place to vent the frustrations, the dissappointments (of design at least, until the first test drives) and to question the questionable items.

Furthermore, you are in no way shape or form the forum police - leave that to the administrators.

Maybe, maybe not. Either way, none of your business.

Yes this is a post about the negatives of the car, but why would bother to come to this forum to simply say "this car sucks"...

Not everyone is doing this, most have very valid beefs about it, but there a few people here that seem to have nothing good to say about it.

And it's not just in this thread where people seem to have come here to simply dump on the 1'er or the people here that hyped to see/own one.

Granted, there is always going to be something you don't like about the car, but if there's nothing that you actually like, then why are you here?:iono:

That's all I'm saying. It has nothing to do with being forum police. Look at what Steve325xi said. He basically said he didn't like the car. Dude had a laundry list of things.

No need to get hostile bud. We adults..let's have an adult conversation.

For what it's worth, my newbie take on the 1 Series is as follows:
-I'm not convinced that it's the spiritual heir to the 2002, but it is a step in the right direction in this era of making each new generation of a car larger & larger.
-The overall styling is pleasing, but you can definately see Bangel's fingerprints on the sheet metal! The saggy side sill is the only really poor area of the design, but given some of his other recent design flaws, I think I can live with this one.
-The final verdict will depend on the pricing. If they can bring the 135i to the US market close to the $31k figure I've been hearing, I think BMW will sell them as fast as they can make them.

Never gonna happen. Try $35-37k for the 135i. No way this thing costs less than an R32.

1. Run flat tires

2. Lack of U.S. model info (colors, options, prices, etc)

3. The release date...I want it NOW

31k, good grief. Hey, I've been hearing the new M3 is only going to be 40k.

Depending on the price of this pooch and portliness (3,400) I may try to get a used Cayman with 10k miles on it for 40k and just keep my X3 for weekdays.

I seriously am still suprised they pulled off the 1 coming to the US, I really thought it might have never happened.

I have a pretty big question regarding the 1er. I really like the chrome lined exterior on all BMWs. I noticed that in the US you cannot get chrome liner on a 328i but it comes on the 335i and was wondering if anyone thinks chrome liner will be an available option on the 128i???

I think the people you've been hearing this from are dreaming...

Add $20,000.00 and you'll be closer...

Loaded 335i's top 50k, my guess is a base price of $57,999...

My '03 ZHP stickered for $44,690...................in 2003...

And its no M3, not even an e46 M3...

based partially on speculation. shape of front lights, weight, how high the car sits, absence of other colors, weight, unilateral tailpipes, long throw clutch, absence of mechanical lsd, weight, run flats, 35K+ price
