Crankcase seal protector plate

I looked around but didn't find any discussions on this. Wondering if the problem of the belt shredding and getting sucked into the crankcase is common enough to justify doing this mod.

There has been some discussions around here regarding this. Generally, this is relatively cheap insurance (compared to having to deal with a sucked in belt). The most common cause of a shredded belt is an oil leak (from OFHG or VC Gasket) getting to the belt, then causing the belt to slip off the pullies and into the seal.

I haven't done it. I tend to keep a pretty close eye on everything in my engine bay, typically giving it a 5-10 minute look over every week.

But also, I haven't had the need to take my car into a shop for any work recently. The next time I need to take my car in for something, or the next time I plan to do something where I'll be working in that area then I'll probably do it.
