newbie question?

Where is the ecu box to plug in the bms powerbox?

I think right infront of Passenger. Look up DIY on e90post, i think there is one or 2. I think the 335i diy apply too

its for an n52. and when i looked under my hood i couldnt find the ecu box.

You have to remove the cowl first. If I recall properly, there's two 8 millimeter bolts on either side near the hood struts. Remove them, the cabin air filter housing and the cowl slides forward towards the radiator. The ecu sits inside of the white box near the passenger side windshield. The top of the box is locked in place by two slide tabs.

Complete install guide is right on the BMS P-Box page. Let that be your only source of info. I did my own install using these instructions and it went very well, taking about an hour and a half without hurrying. I have 30K miles on my P-Box now, still love it. (When I switch it off for service, the car feels like it has molasses in the engine!)
