Oh crap - definitely too much of a stretch for me :eyebulge: I'll be one very lucky and very happy person if I could manage either one of either a 135i or GT-R, ownership of both of them would be an all time dream come true
But if that's what your intending to end up with, I say absolutely awesome  I'll have to visit you in person for a thourough going over with the GT-R  |

volume discounts on a gt-r....that really cracks me up!
i'll join in on the GB if i get the one with the highest kw output. gt-r engines being handmade and all that means each one would dyno slightly differently (as if dynos weren't unreliable enough that we have one more variable to deal with!!) |

What's the relevance? Is he gonna pull out of this if he has a girl or something? GT-R has big enough back seats for baby seat I think. And his wife is Japanese so I am sure she would prefer GTR over a Porsche or something. So you think you will be ready to order by mid next year? Whenever we order, delivery will be in 2010.

WAY is correct in stating it'll be a 2010 at the earliset delivery... It will be on sale here in about April-May next year, but the initial allocation will be sold out from pre-orders for sure. As I've mentioned in the other thread, Nissan can only produce a maximum of 1000 per month and has World wide pre-orders exceeding a full years production right from the beginning of this cars market launch, which was December last year. Interesting how some people from this forum may be future owners of an R35 GT-R  great stuff :w00t: |

I have been told that "the ACS program may be available here and there may be a way to have it backed with a warranty." Confirmation or denial to follow soon. |

I received a PDF file a few minutes ago regarding this, so in other words forget it, as i said above.
AC Schnitzer In addition to the launch of the BMW Performance range of enhancement products, should a customer wish to purchase AC Schnitzer components, these are still available for sale locally. As a reminder, please note that only select AC Schnitzer products are available for sale in Australia via the BMW Dealer Network due to Australian Design Rule compliance issues. Components from the following product groups are NOT available in Australia: • Engine • Suspension • Wheels • Exhausts |

BMW Performance product that's what the issue is! ADR Compliance, ah BS. Does anyone think BMW will release a product set for the 1 and the 3 and continue with someone elses product? No Siree.
Oh yeh speaking of non BMW performance cars, the latest edition to our garage arrived today (trucked in from Cairns of all places)! The 3rd place getter in the latest BFYB comparison, what a car it is, sitting in the driveway with it's GT Stripes over everything. LOL |

US dealers were flashing 335's for a period of time until a few of them came back with suspected blown turbos, had to recall every car sold with flash and put back to stock. Turned out to be a fault not nearly as severe but was still a PR stuff up.
Oh and for those upset about the $11k ACS is charging, I was quoted $8.3k for an MTM (Audi) exhaust today! |

Im teaching another to drive and need a car too but not just yet. X4 is out of the question but thinking of an old Saab 93. Cheap, safe, and a few mod cons, pretty reliable too. Intil then the 1er will have some L plates on it from time to time. Thats ok, the off buttons within reach so is the hand break! Yep. |

$50k car for a learner, naaah!
The 17 year old joins the RAAF in Feb, the plan is he will buy it off us "cheap" early in '09 after he gets his license and saves a few bucks, and besides the Mini CS IMO is crap (sorry any Mini owners out there I just don't like it as Pauline Hansen says). |

Welllll.....
Its a funny story really, we were looking at the normal fleet of small new cheapish cars, Suzuki Swift/Fiesta Zertec/Mazda 2. I also wanted something I would be vaguely interested in to drive in the short term to rest the little M and as such was keen to look at the XR4 but it is $28k RRP OTR, compared to ~$20k for the others. I did a bit of Carsales surfing and found that there are a few XR4 that were unwanted Fujistu airconditioning prizes around the place (there were 50 of them up for grabs, there was TV adds for them with Tuby Taylor doing the advert). I wrang a couple of the people who were selling them with like 50 kilometers on the clock registered for only a week or so asking $24k-25k. I offered $20k and deal done. Flew up on frequent flyers, won a couple of grand at the casino which paid for the Shangri La hotel for 4 nights, drove the car around and threw it on a truck back to ACT for $1k. And then I found $10. |

Maybe not all but most OEM and aftermarket items do tend to reflect the pricing of the car type/manufacturer in question though, all you have to do is compare similar things to each other, for eg: flash tune for a VW Gti 2.0TFSI will cost you much less than exactly the same tune for exactly the same engine in an Audi TT and so on and so on... I got quotes on custom 3 piece wheels not long ago from the same manufacturer, same type, size, spec, model of wheel for my Astra was 2k cheaper than a quote on exactly the same wheel specs for a BMW 135i, the only difference was the PCD See they all assume that when you can afford to buy an exotic or prestige brand, you have more money, so all associated items, including servicing etc. is accordingly raised  |
