even though my car is not a 135, checked my service indicator and it shows 15000km and date 10.09. I picked up my car in dec 08 so when october comes around it wouldnt have been a year yet, I doubt I'll hit 15k by then anyway.

Other good news was that clutch is on the way out ?? what the.... the ultimate driving machine? Anyone else had any clutch issues ? Track days at Eastern Creek so not that hard on the clutch, otherwise usual urban use. Quote for replacement around $4500!!Interesting discussions ahead with BMW Australia . Willl also be looking at aftermarket options. |

Just had my oil changed by andrew at southern bm for under $200 yesterday.
once again great, efficient and friendly service. Basically fitted me in when i rocked up (i know its a small job but its still nice to know that some ppl are still willing to provide that sort of service) Think most of you guys already know about him but i'll just say i highly recommend him. |

Service at 15,000km is definite... Just checked on the iDrive computer and based on current Km's and what the iDrive tells me when the next service is due totals 15,000Km's so it may have changed from 25,000 to 15,000 when the MY09's started production.

As the saga goes on, got the car back to work yesterday and checked the oil service indicator/dipstick.
Dipstick reading was just on 3/4 on the OK mark NOT the FULL MAX level. So I checked it when I got home and same reading, as again checked first thing in the morning..Same..sitting on 3/4 mark.. Contacted BMW service in the morning and explained that when I first picked up the car NEW from the dealer, the indicator sat on MAX for approx 6 months, then dropped down to 3/4 for the past 3 months leading up to the service. So why in hell after a oil/filter service it is still sitting on 3/4. Told this NOB that the invoice indicated only 4.5 litrs used, instead of the recommended 5.5 litres. This service NOB tried to make me believe that the 135 and 335 had different engines and the 135 only needed 4.5litres unlike the 335 which takes 5.5litres. What an ass..Finally got on to the service manager and taking the car back tomorrow for a 1 litre top up... HOW PATHETIC are they, that they dont even know the recommended oil quantity after a service.. Their even more pathetic excuse was that my car was the first 135 that they have had to service... |

Some of the specs are not exactly true and as such the first 135i that i changed oil in, i drained and measured exactly how much came out, 6 litres. So every car i do gets 6 litres.
I'm glad you got it cheaper than the previous quote. |

Hang on...
Why are you panic when the oil level is 1/4 from High mark. The low mark = empty? I might be only good when racing rotary engines... but when my engine is critical in oil since the engine inject to lube the apex seal. I always track with 3/4 up the L mark. Nothing more. Tell me something I am not aware?

At least you had the expertise and intelligence to measure the oil on the first 135i you serviced...You would think a BMW service department would have at least some sort of backup knowledge Andrew..

I don't go to dealer for mere oil change for any car now. I go to my mechanics for half the price and I am watching him doing it.

Coincidence I spose but my 135 says it's due at 18000km?! It is a 09/08 Compliance car and we were told 25k intervals. WTF, NO track days on this car, it's the wife's pride and joy) anyway not worried cause we have both cars on the EPP so it is a freebie. I will however make sure they put in the required litreage (thanks Zuzu) Also, got an SMS from the Dealer this week saying that the M hadn't been serviced (probably cause it only has 16,000k on it) for 12 months so I booked it in for next week for a greasy change etc. |

I did my "break-in" oil change myself today.(1700miles) I payed 60 dollars at my dealer for BMW oil and filter.(7quarts). Since this was my first time doing an oil change at my house i had a little oil spill and i got a little burn haha at least it wont happen again.
I love to make my engine happy |

My SA asked whether I wanted the book stamped and whether I wanted the interval reset. I declined interval reset as it was only a 2000km running in oil change. But book was stamped no questions. |

335 takes 6.5L, I'd assume the 135 is the same. I change mine every 7.5K and have BMW do it every 2nd change so the book is stamped. FYI never had to top up despite spinning the wheels from delivery.
BTW if any 1ers in Sydney decide to do their own plugs I have the socket, happy to lend it on a boomerang basis as BMW won't sell them and the normal suspects for tools don't have them either |
