Of rust and rims

Just my luck! . Going through some roadworks at walking pace and band! - the rear passanger tyre falls into a huge hole. Dented the rim and gave it a case of gravel rash. Suprisingly, the tyre is fine.

Then comes the fun job of taking the wheel off. Of course no jack or tyre wrench in the car. Of course the wrench from the Subie does not fit. Etc etc.

I was suprised to see the amount of rust on the hub. I suppose they use iron to help transfer heat from the brakes to the rims (I'm guessing), but still! At least you do not see it unless your lucky like i am!
