No vents in this hood. However it looks as though they could easily use the same mold and add them

Sideskirts won't fit the 135i.

For sure, it wouldn't be that hard to do. I hope they give us the option, it looks a bit underdone without it.

Ok.. so any ideas if they will make anything for the 135i? I think our cars are in need of some sideskirts since we probably only have 1 option which is the performance ones... I would like someone to make an M3 style one.. the 1M one isn't even close in comparison in terms of look and flow as the M3 version.

Sneak them a note saying we want another side skirt option.

I've already asked for a sideskirt / diffuser option for the 135i. They said once they finish all of the current projects and see how well the rest of the parts sell for the 135i such as lip, hood, and trunk then they will consider making more 135i parts.

So the more SLeK 135i stuff sells the more likely they would be interested in investing more money into 135i stuff.

Just got my 135 last month and plan on picking up the lip, hood, and trunk when available since I can find anything out about iCarbon. I really hope SleK comes out with the side skirts and quad diffuser.

I just received word on the hood MSRP price. Remember this is MSRP and most likely the group buy will have a discount. Also SLeK is working on an option to give vents for those people who want them, but they know some prefer a nice clean look so both options will be available.

B 82 S HOOD BMW 1 Series Hood Single $1,295.00
B 82 D HOOD BMW 1 Series Hood Double $1,699.00

Is there going to be special GB pricing? It's a lot of money to drop especially since I need to factor in freight and costs for hoodpins, painting and fitment.

I have actually asked them how much it costs them to make the hood and you guys would be surprised. It is very close to the 4 digits. American made labor & materials are not cheap unfortunately but that is what you're paying for, quality. I'm buying my hood on Sunday hopefully if it is done by then.

There should be a trunk and hood group buy where Harold will give people a cheaper price.

If the cost is in fact close to four digits, they're making at least $800 profit on every unit sold . But seriously though I'm sure it's well made and all but too expensive for me. Cuz then you got shipping charges and then you got to paint it and from past experiences, painting an after market part, the paint is never as strong and as good as the one that came from the factory. It chips easier and stuff. But I'm not here to bash the product, for people that don't mind paying for it, I'm sure it will be nice.

I was told near 4 digits for the single, not the double. Also have to remember that just to make a mold it's anywhere from 3-5k and then a prototype is extra $ as well.

SLeK uses the same facility that Arkym used to use before they became huge and their hoods are 1999$ for single sided. Prices always depend on which country the product is made in.

http://www.**********s.com/Arkym-E90...Fiber-Hood.htm

Just shows that SLeK is trying their best to keep it as low as they can.

That's an other thing about after market parts, as much as the company says it's oem fitment, it just isn't all the time. And once again I want to make it clear that I'm not bashing the product. I myself actually purchased the slek lip on the group buy if you remember. It's just that as good as a company says it is it just isn't as good as oem bmw parts. Which is completely normal cuz bmw is a multi billion dollars company with a 10 digit budget and slek isn't. That's why I have a hard time justifying to pay that much for cosmetic stuff because I'm semi on the fence. And to give you an example I'll take the arkym hood you just posted.

I agree with you, no aftermarket carbon fiber company will come close to BMW OEM quality. Why do you think a diffuser is 1400$? If BMW made an OEM Carbon Hood it would be 3k+ easily.

Pictures were posted of the SLeK hood up above and it does not have that kind of gap. That gap is most likely a problem with Arkym's mold which SLeK's does not have if you look at the pictures above.
