125i owners: what does your engine bay look like?
Ok so I was reading up on Wikipedia about my car (as you do) and found something that has me a tiny little bit worried. On the page for the N52 engine, you can see pictures of both the 2.5L variety and the 3.0L variety:
2.5L: 3.0L: I was just feeling smug about having the 3.0L version, but if you look at the pictures of my engine bay below, it looks MUCH more like the 2.5L??? What do your 125i engine bays look like? |

hey chylld,
mine looks much the same as yours (i.e. the black engine cover). I just assumed it was only the *30i cars which had the silver cover, but im not sure? You must remember that our "3.0L" cars are really a detuned 3.0L engine. |

Mine's the same as yours.
4 cylinder intakes visible, with 2 hidden down under the dash if you look deeper. Black engine cover. |

No need to worry, i have a 128i, with the 3.0L six, and my engine bay is identical. The engine bay in the second pic isnt a 1er. In the 1 Series the engine looks small due to approx half of it sitting behind the firewall, the engine is actually pretty much sitting right behind the dash. BMW did that because of their obsession with weight distribution, and as far as ive read the 1 series is pretty darn close to a perfect 50/50.Especially the NA models.

Im up for a run. Been flat our recently and have started to read the forum again. My 125 definitely needs to stretch its legs before it turns 1.

Carlos!!! Been wondering where you have been lurking for a while. Should organise a meet sometime. I know Sparoz and BBK are usually keen as well as Darren, although he has been absent lately (pitch in Darren if your still here). Sorry to the OP for another THREAD JACK
