Swimjim > I usually use Oxyclean spray -- you can get it at the auto parts store:

You also might want to try something like auto finesse total interior cleaner. I haven't used it yet on the headliner and such, but it works great on the floormats, carpets, plastics, trim pieces, and works on a ton of things and is pretty gentle, yet effective. Makes floormats look brand new with a few spritzes and then wiping with a microfiber towel. Doesn't have much of a smell either which is nice.
