135i roll bar

I have a 2008 135i, does anyone know we're I can get a roll bar. That I will still be able to fit people in the rear seats?

It is simply not safe to have people in the back with a rollbar installed, full stop. Without a helmet on, a rollbar is many times more dangerous than the car is stock.

Not only is it a terrible idea but it I highly doubt your insurance would cover the injuries a person would sustain in the rear seat with a rollbar installed.

I remember seeing an E82 chassis half roll cage that you can install and remove at your discretion. Perhaps this is a compromise that could work for you ...

Edit: Scratch that idea - BR Racing have stopped selling them ...

Just looking for a simple roll bar, like convertibles have, not a full roll cage. I daily drive my car as well drag race it, so I would like the convince of not having to put it in on race days and out on non race days. I would always be by myself on Highway pulls and a 6 point harness will keep me in place.

Good points Mark, and I'm not trying to start a debate on how dangerous highway pulls are. I know they are dangerous and of course best to not do them, but not everyone follows the rules. I'd like to be as safe as I can when I'm also being as dangerous as I am l.

5-point half cage with harness bar shouldn't cost too much to have built. Personally, I wouldn't allow rear seat passengers once it's in. (I've run a 4, 5, 8 point cage on the street before...)

In Australia, I'd expect to pay $AU1000-1250 to have one made to suit our design rules (street) and motorsport regulations.
