There is nothing wrong with dreaming. This would be an engine of choice for me if it was in BMW lineup.

If this kit cost a couple grand, it would be an awesome mod. But for around 10k after labour they probably won't sell too many. Just a nice to have.
True but honestly do you think the motor will be as smooth after this mod?

I think everyone forgets these cars are new now. What happens in 5-6 years when the car is on the 2nd or 3rd owner, or even 8-10 years when its a "cash car" Then all of a sudden putting $2-3k into the motor isn't so bad, and I'd love to have a 3.2L stroked 128i for a track car in a few years when the prices come down.

Can anyone speculate on the performance? Would it even be worth it for 50 more rwhp?

50 more rwhp on NA engine without using FI is pretty good in my opinion. Plus, I am sure it is making the internals much stronger for higher revving profile.

seems like you'd get more power by adding a supercharger.

but I agree, when the price of these cars comes down and warranty isn't even a question anymore, i'm sure these upgrades would be worth it.

Am I missing why just dumping an S54 in wouldn't be cheaper and make more sense and add more power, not to mention a better exhaust note, with the same displacement? I assume it would weigh more, but probably not that much more.

When we are talking about 15 large, there are a lot of options available...

Saying that, the whole point of this kit is staying with naturally aspirated engine which will give you around 300hp

This is a very good point. I plan on keeping the car for many years as long as it isn't expensive to maintain. Eventually as it gets older I will buy a new car, but at that time I will have to decide if I want to get an even sportier car (if they still make such a thing) and leave this car stock, or buy an econobox for the winter and trick this one out.

Choices...

That being said that is still many years away and right now there is no way I would consider modifying my car's engine this way.

They seem to raise the peak power by 100rpm, doesn't a stroker kit lower that peak ?
