So... Do you think this is a total loss?

First off, I'm OK and so was the other person. My car, however, was not so lucky.

I'm waiting on the insurance companies and just wanted to get anyones opinion on their experiences with accidents of this level and insurance. I have plenty of mods and if it is totaled, wondering how I go about salvaging those mods. If it's a total loss, can I know I can buy it back and part stuff out. Wondering what a used N54 engine and auto trans are going for these days?

The driver's air bag and side curtain bags went off. The wheel/fender took the initial impact so I'm sure the wheel, strut, hub, rack, etc. are done for as well as the radiator and all the structure that holds all that shit in place.

The doors still open freely and the firewall looks OK and I think thats a good thing.

It's a 2008 with less than 50K on it. I will really miss this car if it's a loss.

Total loss and you don't want it any other way. I'd be wicked sad if that happened to my 135i, but at the same time you have to realize that car will NEVER be right again. Cut your losses, use your insurance money to buy another one that hasn't been destroyed and you'll be way better off. Rebuild cars are huge headaches.

Also, fuckin subarus...amirite?

Thanks for the input guys. Yea, I think a nicely used replacement would be the best outcome here. Hope I can salvage some of my parts off this one.
The Subie turned left right in front of me at an intersection. She said the light was a green arrow. Bullshit!

There u go. These cars are "rare" but not rare enough that you can't get a nice used one. I did

Good luck with the new car man. At least you know they are safe!

Sad part is I can see someone fixing this car and selling at some sketchy private dealership with the miles rolled back. LOL

Damn Soobi...

At least your airbags deployed. Must not have been the recalled Takedas.

Looks like the crumple zone on the Subaru did as designed. That's a total loss. Yours looks pretty bad too although even with your low mile 2008, the insurance company will lowball you. Was she cited?mhope she had insurance.

Sorry for your loss bro. Seems tweaked, cannot be saved. Best of luck getting a nice one. Will insurance pay for your mods?

Not sure yet. Thinking about buying it back if the price is right and parting it out. Stay tuned!
