Software update gone bad!

Brought my car in on thursday to get a couple minor things looked i.e instrument cluster rattle. Anyways, service rep informed me they would also install new software update. Well....update fried both idrive module and ABS module.

me too, i feel a little naked with the 323 loaner...not that there is anything wrong with this car it's just....

They had not even taken a look at that yet by friday afternoon. I think they were pretty much scrambling to fix the other issues first. They also told me that they had started to download software at 9am on thursday and by thursday 4pm it was still downloading and there was about 3hrs left. I Had no idea it took that long.

Got the car back yesterday. Took 4 days considering monday was a holiday here.

All seems good, rattle was fixed, idrive and abs module changed and software updates completed. I now have RDS radio. Hesitation at take off was getting better and better as time went by, but it now seems to be gone completely. Not sure if it's just me who had stopped noticing or if software update actually corrected it.

Also, service advisor told me that they were instructed by BMW to install updates on all e90 delivered before september, they are considering it a recall without it being defined as such.
