Check your tire pressure after going to discount tire
Every time I've gone in they've under inflated my tires. My front tires are worn on the outside. Even when they serviced only the back tires, they took air out of the fronts. When I checked one time the fronts were 10 lbs under. Even when I give them a specific PSI they still under inflate them. They're always trying to sell me wheels too claiming all mine are bent.

I do not trust anyone when it comes to tire pressure
I check my tire pressure the next morning (spec pressures are when the tire is cold) whenever I suspect anyone touches my tires. That includes the dealer. Pressures are wrong most of the time, partly because they are not measuring cold pressure.

Same here, I always check the PSI next time the tires are cold, even if I go to my BMW dealer. It's not that I don't trust them, it's just an important detail that is easy to get left behind.

I check the tire pressure in both of my vehicles at least once a month, and I also keep my spare set of track tires which are stored in my garage properly inflated to prolong their life. I keep a gauge and compressor in each car, and I've also got a large compressor in my garage to make life easier. I've wrecked a car on overinflated, worn out tires. I take this stuff very seriously. Not to mention, I prefer to run my pressures a few PSI higher than normal, depending on the tire and intended use.

Your trust is misplaced
I recently had my tires replaced at Discount. While I was there I watched several folks come in to get their tire pressure checked as I watched. They filled every car to 38 pounds without ever checking the car door sill or any other source for the correct pressure. Yeah, they keep the tires inflated but you are probably running too high a pressure. As another poster stated, tires should be checked monthly when cold. Depending on when you go to Discount and how far away it is, the tires are likely no longer cold.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I live in San Diego and it hasn't gotten lower than 25 here in over 100 years.
