Isn't it relative to how much throttle input you're giving regardless of the mode? For instance, if you went th 3/4 throttle in normal, it wouldn't shift @ 2k, right?

Is that just BMW playing with the ECU so that it can report vaguely respectable fuel economy ratings (ie how BMW claims the PPK2 doesn't impact fuel efficiency)? That's the only thing I can think of, because you'd have no clue how fast the car was if you just kept it in regular drive mode. The sport vs. regular mode difference is much more pronounced than on my old 135i w/step, but not sure if that's because all DCTs are that way or if it's because of how they set it up for the DCT + PPK2?

Finally took delivery of the 135is at the Performance Center on Monday. Here are a few pics.

Got it home Monday night, and had tint installed today. Also installed matte grills this morning.

I am thinking of doing a write up on the PCD experience, since there isn't one on this forum, just the E90 forums. It is definitely an incredible and fun experience, and I recommend anyone ordering a new BMW to do Performance Center Delivery.

Thanks. I will work on doing the write up, and you and your wife will love the PCD experience. If you go after April though, you probably won't be able to do the factory tour, as they will be tooling up for production on a new model, and don't want the public seeing it. Caught a glimpse of a wrapped, disguised, vehicle there. Everything, especially the M5 hot lap, are first rate and oh so fun

There are several write ups on PCD on here if you search around.

Really?

Missed them then. When I searched, I saw the ones on the E90 forums and the M3 forums, but I did do the search across all boards, so the 1addicts write ups must have been down pretty far on the results list.

Well, that will save me some time and keystrokes...though I was kinda looking forward to posting up some gratuitous pics of M5's at the PCD

Here are a couple. I remember there being a very detailed one shortly after I bought my car back in 2009 but I can't seem to locate it. It may be worth while if you do feel like putting in the effort!

New tires

I am getting new tires today: Michelin PSS! I can't wait to test the difference in handling! How does one upload pics from a phone without buying a computer connector? Thanks.

I have a good relationship with Circle BMW in NJ. They did great work on my ZHP and never, ever treated me like a moron or tried to tack on services I knew I didn't need. Plus, they give me loaners even though I don't purchase from them, which is not their normal policy.

Edit - sorry I obviously didn't read your question haha.

I'm having the oil/filter changed, transmission fluid changed, and diff. fluid changed. Also seeing if they can get rid of auto wipers. No service indicator reset, NO WASH!

Hmm, I thought I was the only one that always told the dealer not to give my car the free wash.

I don't want someone else polishing swirls into my paint ...

Are you getting this work done under warranty? I spoke to my SA and he stated that they do not do early service on our cars since it is not a M. I would love to have all this changed on my IS just not sure if it will be out of pocket. Keep me informed.

haha Yes, the dealership actually has a specified key ring for my car which reminds them NEVER to wash it. They washed my ZHP one time and I went berserk. First world problems.

No, not under warranty - all out of pocket. People will debate the merits of this service ad nauseum; that's the cool thing about your own car, you can service and take care of it as you see fit. I tend to go along with Mike Miller (of Roundel and Bimmer Mag) and his Old School Maintenance Schedule.

BMW will only pay for your maintenance at the indicated intervals (between 10 and 15k or so), so if you intend on doing any intermediary oil changes (7.5k), they're out of pocket, too.
