Here in Germany (this time of year already), it's illegal to operate your motor vehicle without dedicated winter tires (must have the mountain symbol). I'm surprised BMW allows people to pick up their car and drive illegally. Ultimately it's one of those no harm no foul situations. But if you're in an accident, you can be faulted even if clearly not in the wrong just for not having the correct tires mounted on your car. Americans and their cars are very scrutinized over here, and often times unfairly.

My advice is to not do ED from November through March. Driving during this time sucks anyway.

Cant wait to see the buildup on this car. I like the colors you guys went with for the 335 (red) and now the blue 135. The "Superman combo" No boring silver or black

Really?! Here in Norway we only have to use winter tires if it's actually snow or ice on the roads.
But of course almost everybody uses winter tires during the winter.

Actually, that's not entirely correct. You are allowed to run winter tires but should you get into an accident, the insurance company can decline coverage due to the tires. The good news is that we lucked out with weather and the roads were clear but I agree, summertime is a much better season to go.

I think that Nick just cleared it up, but you're wrong. It isn't against the law to drive without winter tires, it just means that you can be held liable in the event of an accident if the accident was caused or aggravated by the fact that you did not have the proper tires for the given road conditions.

That's correct. And BMW specifically warned us that we did NOT have snow tires, and should NOT attempt to drive in snow.
Luckily, we had a friend from Canada (one of our vendors) who could have taken the wheel if we California boys couldn't handle the ice

Yep, it snowed before we were there. There was a lot of snow on the sidewalks and fields, but none on the roads anywhere we went.

Awesome! another super 1! i only get compliments on the street, but apparently some members think the color combo is too gaudy. in person though, it's phenomenal. congrats.
