I wash it the same as if it were not dipped. Soft microfiber sponges and towels and chamois to dry.

Love this! The car looks 'frosty' at all times

I'm sure using plasti-dip costs much less than doing the same thing with real paint (i.e. stripping OE paint and repainting entire car), but do we know relatively how much you saved?

Well I believe the pro car kit from dipyourcar.com comes in at around $350ish for 4 gallons of pre-thinned paint, the gun and all the prep stuff so minus that from whatever a paint job costs. Here in the U.K the same kit is around £250 vs a full outer respray hich comes in at around £1500 - £2000. A wrap is in the same region price wise also so it's a no brainer really.

My neighbours are going to think I'm nuts; black 135i in the morning, white 135i by afternoon.

Looks great, I can't believe it's plasti dip! I did my diffuser, but I don't think I'd have the balls to do the whole car!

where I live, to have the full car vinyl wrapped is at least $2000 (Called several places). To plastidip the car yourself it costs under $400 and you can use the spray gun you get for the next time you decide to change the color. Next year when I decide to change to red or something crazy, it will only cost me around $180 or less for the gallons of dip.

Yea what he said. lol

My neighbors were in shock when they woke up to see two white bimmers in the driveway instead of 1 white and 1 black.

Thanks bluecat. I saw it this way, if I dont like it, I can peel it away and only be out a few hundred bucks. Completely reversable.

Well done! I was thinking about doing this a while back, I had doubts. This makes me interested again.

Can you take a few close-up shots to help show the texture?

Also, have hard is it to take it all off?

Thanks. I just left part of the original front bumper exposed to give that splitter look.

I'll throw up a couple of close ups after the rain lets up. It peels off like vinyl but probably with a little more ease. There are youtube videos of some Eurosquad guys peeling a whole car dip.

Looks great and exactly what I was thinking about tackling in the near future. How did you section off the splitters? Blue tape?

Yea blue tape. The trick to pulling it up without peeling your dip job is to remove the tape while your last coat is still wet.

I was asking a local ship about leaving the splitters un-dipped and they were concerned about air pockets forming inside the rubber where the sharp edge is due to that area being exposed to a lot of high speed winds. Have you noticed any peeling or anything in those spots?

Not at all so far. The only Spot giving me trouble is the door handle groove of the door. It seems to like pulling outward forming an air pocket. I possibly did not clean it well enough before dipping. It is repairable by using naphta or xylene to reactivate the adhesive qualities of the dip then spraying that area with another coat.
