Putting Old Balast Onto New Headlights

Im in England right now, so ive decided to replace them with a pair of LCI german spec healights that ill pick up here and send home. Just one question. The damage to the headlights is only cracked housings, operationally theyre fine. So can I plug the newer headlight design into my old ballasts? __________________
