When I picked up the car from the dealership. Thought I was in first but I was in third. An embarrasing way to take delivery of your new car. I'm sure the dealership personnel had a good laugh at my expense...

I've stalled mine 2 or 3 times and I'm always parked when it happens haha
I leave the car in 1st when I park and I sometimes forget to hit the shut off button before I let out the clutch lol Oh and one time I was approaching a red light when this car full of chicks pulls into the turn lane next to me. I guess I forgot to take the car out of 4th gear and put it in neutral before I let out the clutch so it stalled. i sat there like nothing had happened until they got the arrow and drove off lol. im pretty sure i turned a bright shade of red when that happened lol. |

To my surprise, never once in the 1. Though I can recall a few times with the E46 M3. I much prefer the clutch in the 1; much lighter and fool-proof.

I stalled once when it was new and I realised the clutch was much much tougher than on my '07 Jetta.
not quite stalling, but what has embarassingly happened to me twice or thrice, is that I park, and try to keep playing the stereo or something and accidentally turn off the car, OR, more so, try to bring the stereo and turn ON the car for about 2 seconds, and pretend nobody heard the growl...

the only times i stall is when i forget im in gear. like talking on the phone after you park, everyone's done that. when you just take your foot off the clutch and whoops.

I used to have a horrible time stalling in the STI when i had people in the car. i'd drive 1,000's of miles alone no issue and then i get 3 or 4 people in the car..stall. it happens..i just kind of laugh it off and say "now, if only i could remember how to drive this thing" |

The last time I stalled I was probably about 15 in my first car.

I stalled on my test drive. Stalled again leaving the PCD. I'd been driving an auto 135 all day, got off at an exit just down the road and didn't even try to clutch in as I came to the light. Just rolled up and stalled. I've done the stall while parked thing a few times, too.
I've also grinded 2nd 3 or 4 times trying to get off the clutch too quick. I hate that sound. |

Grind... Stall... can happen to the best of us... Wait we are talking about cars right? Just checking... OK OK *blush* it happened allright!!! The force was weak! But that is all I am going to admit here.
EspressoBoy BTW I love it when I am on a hill... no rolling backwards anymore! Wonder what other maker does that? (the little delay you get to shift after you take your pedal off the clutch... the break is on for you automatically....sweet I love that) |

So you're saying if there is a modified CDV in, this wont happen b/c the clutch will be able to engage faster??
