135i M-Sport Steering Wheel - Replace Peeling Cover
Hi All,
The peeling plastic on my 135i M-Sport convertible's steering wheel by the buttons has finally driven me mad and I cannot look at it like that anymore. I have spoken to BMW about replacing the plastic cover (part no: 32.30.7.845.527) and their quote for the part is $280. Looked online and nothing from AU, few from US/UK but looking at around $200 inc freight. Has anyone else replaced it, if so where did you buy from and how much was it? If there is no better option I will just go with it but wanted to bounce it around and see what you all think. Many thanks, Justin |

My car did that and I had the dealer replace it under warranty. If you are still under warranty have the dealer replace it.

Tischerbmw.com. You can get a new cover there for about 60 US dollars and its really easy to swap yourself. Just three screws. I ordered a new steering wheel cover from there. Arrived in about 10 days

Your dealer shoud replace it for free, it's a known problem, but that's in the US, don't know about down under.

I had the same thing happen while under warranty but the dealer would not replace it! really pissed me off so I bought a replacement piece made from carbon fiber and swapped it out myself! Looks like the above photo only with a glossy coat

The carbon looks great @bruno28 and @bimmer82. I eventually found a new genuine part and swapped it out myself. So much better now! The peeling was really annoying me.
Next item on the list is the cup holders in the middle which are peeling as well. :-p |
