The 130i was not sold here, but it was basically just a 128i with another 35 horsepower and 35 lb-ft of torque, and some other suspension bits. I've converted mine to (at least) 130i spec, and the suspension is well beyond a stock 130i, so I felt adding the badge was appropriate-ish. I think it's kind of a cool head-turner for the people who know what it means.

Just clay barred, polished and waxed my hood to try and get those body shop-inflicted swirls out, no luck. But, the paint is smooth like silk and has this wonderfully deep shine to it, so I guess there's a win in there somewhere...

I installed a berk street axle back a few weeks back, and today I installed MHD stage 1 (CA 91oct).

It's insane how amazing this tune is. I don't really modify cars the way I used to and worry about dumb things like reliability now, so i was on the fence. The benefits gained from the tune are unreal. It took 25 minutes, couldn't have been easier. Best $250 I've ever spent on a car. Stock run flats are useless in 1st and 2nd.
The car pulls so much harder higher in the rev range, stock it just sort of dies and sounds crappy. I swear the exhaust note got substantially more aggressive, and the burble is nice. I've modified and owned a decent number of cars, the 135i is far and away my favorite.

My first run, ever doing cones, was an 85. Through the day constantly dropping. Ended up plateauing about 76 seconds. Multiple reasons, #1 of which, lack of driver mod.

. . . suddenly a passenger appears, LOL

I feel the same way about how much more aggressive it sounds. Sounds like it's actually something to be scared of now

My new 3rd brake light cracked already. What a shitty design. Even tried to keep the nuts looser so it wouldn't happen again.

I'm just gonna put a real light tint over it.

I'm in need of a new one but I've put if off b/c its a do & redo. I'm thinking of covering it with clear bra if I get a new one.

I've got an Agency Power exhaust, and have the MHD software for coding.
Been contemplating re-installing the occasionally-troublesome but already on hand JB Stage 1, or going with the MHD @ Stage 1.
You've got me seriously considering the MHD now.

I'm not exaggerating when I say its the greatest $/enjoyment mod I've ever added to one of my cars. My list of modded cars (past ownership), just to give you some perspective, is this:
Srt-4 neon
1st gen RX7 with a turbo II motor
Crossfire SRT-6
Fully built 240sx
Mazdaspeed 3
300zx TT

So I've had a good number of boosted cars and all have been modded.

In addition to the power/sound/ease of install, I'm one of the unlucky owners that had serious idle/throttle lag issues with the a/c on. The MHD COMPLETELY resolved this issue. I would have paid significantly more than $250 to eliminate that problem alone.

I'm absolutely going downpipes/ic/stage 2 MHD this summer. I have no experience with any other BMW tunes, but it really reminds me of my friends old B4 S4 after he went with an APR tune. This is a completely different car now, gunned it through a long tunnel today (by LA standards, 3rd street tunnel) and heads were turned. I didn't like my BERK axle back note prior to this tune, it was actually pretty terrible. I was going to sell it and go Berk race, but it sounds incredible now. The burble is meh, but I tuned it near the lowest setting.

TLDR, get an MHD tune, never look back.

For me, the biggest smiles-per-dollar mod was my Dinan camber plates. Awesome turn-in, phenomenal grip, made the car very balanced mid-corner...

Because designing a third brake light is like asking for the cure to cancer for BMW apparently

For me it was the RSFB & Diff Lockdown Bracket. Those two items made the car more planted in corners and improved the handling. It was also the first suspension mod I did to the car so that helps. Next after that was the M3 control arms which is value added for sure but not quite at the same level. The rear is the weak-link on the 135i set up.

It cracks and falls out. Mine has cracked but its still holding on. But I've been parking outside the last 4 months so its taking a beating. The rest of the car looks fine. I'll probably replace it sometime soon.

As far as I know, my third brake light has always been cracked. The first time I paid any attention to it, it was cracked. Had the car since Oct 2010 and it could've been cracked when I first drove it home. Will replace it when it falls out.

Also put on my nicer wheels (no regrets) and found I can now fit a 10mm spacer in the back with the amount of camber I now run, meaning I've got that stance...I've missed these tires!

Hey, remove the interior parts to wrap them.

Which parts do you speak of? I removed all of them, but the ash tray (why, bmw, why?) lid was hard because I couldn’t figure out how to remove it, so I just did it in-place...

I saw a oops cut mark on the shifter surround and assumed.

Used 130i tacho gauges, coded for my car.

For those that do not know, the 130/330 and the 135/335 cars came with an oil temperature gauge, rest did not.

Will be installing this tonite, hope the gentleman who sold it to me coded it correctly.

Today, yesterday, over the weekend...
Drove around a lot, and when I parked and got out of the car...

IT DIDN'T SMELL LIKE OIL

First time in months. Silly perhaps, but to me it's totally awesome

Cool!

I just swapped a 135i cluster into mine, I'm working on the DIY at the moment

All I had to do was swap the EEPROM and do an easy code in NCS expert. Make sure you disconnect the battery, the cluster stopped working when I tried to semi-hot swap it, and I had to disconnect the battery to reset it.

Yeah i followed your thread, you had some issues but that is part of coding.

You would be surprised, how rare the 130i/135i gauges are, loads of 116i-123i for sale, the 130/135i are the only ones with the oil temp. gauge even some asking for €400 before coding (which usually costs another €50-€80).

You can adapt the 330/335i gauges with some sanding, as i heard, but wanted true "bolt on" without mods. Brand new for €599 is a bit rich for just a gauge.

Wow! I got mine for $99 off of a wrecked 135i 'vert, and there are lots like that over here...
