pardon my noob question...2 step?
can I 2 step my car with out a tune? I know JB4 has a 2 step limiter...I sat outside for like 10 minutes last night slamming on the gas like an ass clown trying to find the rev range that would 2 step haha

But I'm not sure about your question, maybe someone else will chime in. Pretty sure you need a tune though, don't believe it just happens naturally |

I think the n55 comes standard with "launch control". Not sure if that is what you are looking for. You can youtube "Launch Control Demo - N55 DCT 135i" for videos that demonstrate this. The car needs to be warmed up though. It wont engage launch control unless its temperatures are correct, but after that its good to go.

The 2-step rev limiter is a function of the Procede and JB4 piggyback tunes only. It is not a function of a stock car. This includes the DCT launch control. LC and 2-step work different in that with LC the ECU just keeps the max revs at a set level until launch. With 2 step it cuts ignition to bounce the revs off the 2-step rev limit in order to build boost.
If you have a piggyback with the 2-step function you can custom select your desired 2-step rev limit.

A reflash can in theory do this, but it has to be programmed in. It's probably quite a bit of effort. Cobb did add a 2 step and some other hacks like speed density for some Subaru models, but I wouldn't hold your breath. A big part of that was the open source reflash guys beating them to the punch.
I would have to seriously question why you think you need a 2 step in a very powerful and broad powerband RWD car with traction in 1st gear already. 2 step is not launch control, and is likely only going to help you burn your rear tires faster if you can't launch the car as is. Is anyone making a serious go of a back-halved 1er drag car?
