MPSS = new car

Just had my run-craps replaced with Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

I've only put 25 miles on so far - but what a difference! The joy is back!

Going easy right now, can't wait to see what these are like after break-in.

My rears are just about done, I am so excited to get a set of PSS's on :]

Are you rocking the 225/255 combo on stock rims?

Yes - 225/255's on stock rims. Ordered them from Tirerack and had a local alignment shop install.

The more I drive on these, the more convinced I am that I did the right thing. The roads around here have really gone to pot and my daily drive was becoming downright painful.

No kidding. My area is just about the same, potholes everywhere. Im praying that when I get a new tire set mounted, my rims aren't bent to crap.

My spare arrived yesterday. Fits in the trunk, but not in my convertible back seat. Might have to put my luggage in the back seat for road trips.

So stock wheels with the PSS and no rubbing issues ? That's what i'm afraid of with the stock M wheels and the PSS in 225 and 255...

No rubbing. My stock wheels are style 264 (sport package), not 261 (M-sport package). But I assume the dimensions are the same. You should probably check with Tirerack to be sure.

I think this is a pretty common setup among people on this board.

yep! the wheel specs are identical, and the tires will fit well.

Can't go wrong with Michelin.

Any change as far as turn-in response? I'd like to ditch the run-flats but I do like the crisp turn-in response they provide.

Responds pretty well in my limited experience. I'm only at about 200 miles so far.

Here's a couple of reviews that swayed me:

I had my MPSS installed today.

I think the only thing I can confirm so far is that there is no rubbing with stock wheels and suspension using the 225/255 set up. I took it over a small hill quick enough to unload the suspension, and then compress, I did not hear a thing.

I will hold judgement on the turn-in/handling until I get some more miles on them. I could feel the rear start to slide a little around on of the turns I did on the way home today.

The tread is really deep on these tires.

I've slid a bit on a corner or two, but I'm still under 200 miles. I haven't gotten the nerve yet to go TIM YOYO on these.
