Smile New 325i

A couple of weeks ago I paid off my 2001 Acura 3.2 CL-S. So, this weekend I found a beautiful 2006 325i. Let me just say, this is the first car I’ve ever owned that made me smile while driving it. It’s absolutely perfect! I now have a better understanding of what “balance” means. I could go on for quite some time about all of the things I like, but of course everyone here knows how great these cars are.

My car has the following options:
TiAg
Manual Transmission
Sport Pkg
Xenon Headlights
Leather
Heated Seats
Satellite Radio
Comfort Access

Thanks everyone for providing hours of informative and entertaining reading over the last few months. Maybe I’ll actually be able to provide some input from here on out.

Congrats.

I know what you mean about the smile... I keep waiting for the novelty to wear off but 8 months later I still drive around with a grin on my face.

New 325i

Yes it sure does handle a lot better than the Acura. As I mentioned briefly, the balance of the car is the first thing I noticed. The Acura is a nice car, but it has 1/10th the fun factor of the BMW.

The Acura is so heavy up front that you're always fighting the understeer. And I've driven the new Acura TL (when I had my car in for service) and it wasn't much better.

Additionally, the BMW is so tight. Turn in is instantaneous, the engine and gearbox are perfectly matched. I'm thinking I'm safer with the 325. I'd probably get in too much trouble with the 330!!!

Congrats! Nice car, and good pic!

I just went from a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S to a 330i and the difference in handling is amazing! I don't think I noticed the torque steer in the FWD Acura until I started driving the RWD BMW - it's like I didn't know what I was missing!

Hey Hardy, Congrats dude welcome to the family of Bimmers

Cool car, i have the same thing with me, Recently i got my front grills changed to chrome because the rt one was broken and they could not find the lt one without chrome.

So, i had to change both with the chrome, believe me , the front look of the car has changed completely and it looks 500 times better than the black one.

And it costs about $70, and you can fix it in 5 minutes. My point here is i would definitely recommend you to consider it positively and i promise you will never repent it.

If at all you do it kindly follow up with me

order 2 left parts of the 330i tips, they make a bigger difference to 325i than even chrome grill. Go to morristown bmw. I got both chrome grille and 330i 2 left part exhausts for 108 shipped to houston.

Another satisfied lifelong Bimmer lover. Now you wonder how people can even compare and acura to the BMW.:rocks:

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I had planned on getting the chrome tips. But I hadn't considered the chrome grille yet. I'll definitely think about it.

Asiann - You're correct. I really cannot figure out how people can compare the Acuras with the BMWs. They are truly different animals.

One other thing I noticed as I drove my Acura last night. The steering is very light and the steering ratio forces me to turn the wheel 50% more to make the same turn. Just another one of the small details that seem to make the difference.

I know what you mean. The TL 6MT is one of the cars I test drove recently, and it felt a heck of a lot like our Accord V6, which is not bad at all, but not BMW. I couldn't see myself having fun driving it every day. On the other hand, the back seats were terrific (I need space for baby seats) and the stereo and nav were outstanding.

Congrats on your new car. It looks terrific!
