Thinking about doing a Zonda style exhaust, ideas?
I want to do a Zonda style exhaust and I would like some imput as to how to pull it off.
The way I see it I could do 1 of 4 things: 1. Just do 4 tips (stacked) on the stock exhaust exit 2. Get a quad diffuser and do two sets of four 3. Do four tips, center exit, on a stock diffuser?? 4. Go all out, cut a hole in the bumper in the middle and route the exhaust to exit accordingly with 4 tips (then what to do with the diffuser?) I have a single 3" pipe now. Ideas???

I wouldn't even consider 1-3, that would look terrible IMO. With a custom rear diffuser 2 tips would probably look good(check out the new shelby gt350) but I just don't see a quad exhaust looking good on a 1er.

I think centering it somehow would be the only way it would look good. You should come off the 3" inch pipe with four 2" pipes.

i don't condone this idea, but for the purposes of exploring the subject...
if you were to route the exhaust upward into a central spot, you'd have a lot of stuff to relocate, and possibly some serious body work to deal with, but you could make a large functional diffuser occupying all of the space from the diff through the top edge of where the current (cosmetic) "diffuser" is. sort of like this... |

Ya know... fuck the haters. I think 4 tips on one side would look bad. 4 tips in the middle might work (or even try 3 lol).. But 2 stacked on each side, like the IS-F, I could see working pretty well... (if you're not satisfied with a "normal" quad exhaust hahaha)
But you'd have to have the rest of the car be cosmetically crazy as well. Personally, I don't really care about "blah blah blah performance matters who cares how plain it looks" as long as the whole theme goes. Some people go with function, but there's no shame in going form > function if it's well done, and in order to pull that off well you'd need your car looking very visibly aftermarket.

haha that's in reference to my e46 m3. i'm personally not a fan of this kind of thing (at least not when done for fashion purposes), but to each his own i suppose...
and so long as we're talking user names, i have a few one-speed bikes as well... |
