My midpipes

Vinnie requested pictures of my custom resonated midpipes, haven't got the chance to post it till now

I decided to get some resonated midpipes as I got a bit tired of how raspy my exhaust was. I couldn't stand it after driving it everyday for a couple of weeks! Not to mention I feel bad every morning I start the car - wake up my whole street....

Fortunately my shop is a magnaflow dealer so I asked them to make a custom midpipes with 2 bottled style resonator (I asked for specification similar to the vibrant resonator 1792 as that is what the yanks normally use with good results!)

I really like the result definitely deepens my exhaust but still has that high pitch scream at the top end but without the rasp! Best of all is that under idle and light cruise the sound is almost stock level.

Cold start is still loud but not as loud which I am sure my neighbours will appreciate it hhaa...

Also I am now fully catless and I do get the smell but it doesn't bother me as much. My butt dyno tells me removing the secondary cats gives some sort of gain!

ps. managed to scrap a bit of the pipes when I went over a really big speed bump as you can see one of the photo

A possible buyer for my car said he knows the owner of Ramp Auto, and he used to be a salesman in AC?

Maybe it wasn't Ramp he was talking about... cant remember exactly which workshop. I believe they are the same people who did your DP?

Looks good.

Is that the OEM mid pipes that they have modified for you?

I will have to take more photos when it goes back on the lift again not sure when though!

I kept the diameter at 2.5", will organise a sound clip sometime this holiday

Any particular reason you kept the same size diameter Rey? I'm anxiously waiting for sound clips of your beast...

Going bigger than a dual 2.5" will result is less power. I think a dual 2.5" on these particular cars is better than a single 3" IMHO.

I wasn't sure if there was any gain to be made with bigger diameter and plus didn't want to come across any scrapping issue if the pipe is bigger. So I figure just leave it at 2.5"

Give me some time to do some clips of the sound - Unless you want cold start sound and some revving video cause I can make that pretty easy. The fly by will require getting my missus to help me record my car while I do a drive by

I could be wrong but I think the stock mids might actually be 2 x 2.25" so 2.5" is slightly bigger.
