And I left my friggin' garage door opener in my car. First world problem.

Actually, this whole whiny post is a stupid first world problem. hahahaha
Ooh, only thing possibly worse than an F30 328i would be a 320i. I'm so so sorry. If anything, you'll REALLY appreciate getting back in your car and suddenly that steering will feel quite stiff. I'm still recovering from my 8 days in an accord.

Just get an IS convertible! Problem solved.

Or open the sunroof, too?

We're going to read about you in the news in a couple of months in the dead of winter that you froze to death driving your car with windows down in -20 degree weather with the windchill so you could hear that exhaust. But, they'll report you died with a smile on your face.
I often wish I was outgoing enough to drive a convertible----however I will most likely feel like Dracula riding with the top down if I rolled in a convertible!

maybe I'll just remove the rear windows. and install a permanent maximum heater?

Quite the "mod" there. That on the inside or outside?

Our fancy valve stem cap challenges that for smallest mod! We'll have to measure, though you may have us if you try to multiple it by 4.

Shame you put that sticker on and are going to rip out all your windows and everything.

You should mount a microphone on your rear bumper actually and have it play through your stereo....oh wait. =P

Not waited for an M4 or M235i? =P

Alright, new idea! Have your wife drive the car with you in the trunk. Open trunk, stick head out and ears close to exhaust. Tell her to accelerate rapidly. Repeat.

In the alternative, put a go pro there, film your daily drive and we'll put the audio together into a continuous loop, with mid-range levels set by Worra, and play at your leisure or when not in car.

I can probably do the GoPro route - as my lady cannot drive a stick, nor do I wish to spend any time in the trunk of my own car, and I do own a GoPro 3. Has anyone here ever mounted a GoPro to the car with one of the sticky mounts? I'm concerned about what it might do to my paint when I remove it....

On a related note, my 6' friend climbed in the trunk of my car the other day, and I shut the lid on him. He fit!

Sorry I wasn't clear when I wrote it, but those instructions were for IEDEI to optimize him listening to his exhaust without ripping out all the windows. =)

I think most the people use the suction mounts on the gopros as they film their exhaust. I'm too afraid of what it might do to the paint or may fall off while driving as I'd like to film the horror of what I have to endure driving to work on LA streets every day.

Um, did you let your 6' friend out of the trunk at any point? I could have already told you, you can fit up to a 6'4" person in there, or two dead hookers given they are under 5'5" each. Or, in the alternative, one dead hooker + a full size spare. ANy chance your 6' friend wants to go into my trunk and install the cargo net?

Having had 3 Bose systems in 3 different Mazdas the HK sounds loads better. High end is clearer bass can be a little muddy but overall it sounds pretty good. Music runs the gamut from U2, snow Patrol, jazz, 80's new wave, 60s/70s soul, and some old 60's acid rock like Hendricks. Throw in some Allman Bros for southern rock. All this through the iPhone interface. Satellite sound quality is meh...

I have the bass at 8, treble at 9 and faded 1 to the rear.

I worked in the home theater business for a while and we used to say "no highs or lows, must be bose". I have definitely found that fading one or two notches to the rear helps with the HK system.

It really hurts to see the new audio system offered in the 4-series and I loved loved loved my Bang & Olufsen 14 speaker, 550 something watt system in my S5. Sadly, that option was about the same amount for the HK. I don't think the HK is great, but it's good enough and I still am enjoying listening to my music on there.

I honestly barely listen to my stereo these days and I'm a massive musicphile. the performance exhaust has become my favourite band along with the sniffles accompanying pneumonia!

Yeah definitely driving with my windows down about 80% of the time, with no stereo. I think I need to actually break the speakers in as well before I judge them too harshly.

You guys have it all wrong. Blast the HK stereo, then you really have to slam the car to hear the exhaust over the music. So you have loud exhaust + loud music! Then, challenge yourself to make the exhaust play the beat of the song you're listening to.

And clearly I've lost my mind. Nah, if I had, I'd say I'm turning my car in for no good reason whatsoever. =) Hello Nissan Versa Note.

I tell ya, these 135is convertibles are going to become collector items for their awesome sound systems. Push one button and your favorite band is playing right in my backyard!

Now, where are those 135is convertible stats....

Worra - I think we found the only diffuser you will hate more than ours - the giant grey plastic rectangle on the M235i.

I'm sure we'll all be seeing and discussing this more in the coming days, but just saw this and all I see in my mind is wow, that diffuser is the ugliest thing ever, doesn't fit or suit the car, and destroys the overall look of the rear. The hell were they thinking?

the M235i looks like a total mess. the details are terrible.....the hood line, the rear end, the diffuser....it looks fat and bloated. I will be awaiting news about an M2 though.....that is something that would interest me.

I agree on all fronts. I also hate the interior of this and all the new BMWs. The interior should be elegant and have curves to it, but all their new interiors are all trapezoidal and then ipad jetting out the dash. You look at cars like any audi, the jaguar F-type, and sadly now, even the new corvette and their interiors are much better looking, suit the car better, and are driver focused and well-integrated.

I'll wait and see what an M2 looks like. My fear is that if the M235i is around $50k, the M2 will have to be around $60k, which when the time comes, I'd rather have a used 135is for probably half the money. I shall enjoy what I consider to possibly be the last good BMW for the foreseeable future.
