Better to get it done at the factory or aftermarket?

No such thing is factory tint on the E90. If the dealership has it done for you, they are simply outsourcing the job to a tint shop.

RIght! Ask your dealer where they outsource it to and try and work a deal. That is what I did and save about $75. Cheapness is not always better since other installers might not be as careful with your car.

Definitely go through the dealer. He can't afford to recommend schlep jobs. They know the best guy in town. Also you may be able to pull some warranty on the tint if you have the dealer do it. Do a consistent tint all the way around. 35% is the Legal limit here, and it looks really good. Going darker on rear window and backseat windows looks cheap, to me.

Neither option applies to me. I prefer tinted windows, but I haven't had mine done yet.

That's the first thing I did to my car, go with Madico, very good tint, unless you want to spend the money and go with Huper Optic, even better

i want my car tinted but when i got my car the dealer told me that if i'll tint my car i'd have to keep my windows closed so the film will not get into the moving parts inside the door.

how true is this? dont really know much about things like this.

if that's the case then i wont tint mine coz i like driving with my windows down when its shady.

Tinting was a must for me. Summers are brutal here.
My primary reason was for heat and UV rejection, but I knew it'd improve the appearance too.

I didn't want it too dark, so went with 35%.
