2011 128i steptronic has same paddles shifters as 2011 DCT

I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

I finally pried myself away from my 2011 135i and drove my mom's 2011 128i with steptronic a few days ago. One of the first things I noticed was that the paddle shifters are different than those 2008-2010 steptronic models. They appear to be identical to those on 2011 DCT equipped beamers.

Although I haven't had the pleasure of driving a DCT equipped N55, I did drive a step 135i during my first test drive and during performance center delivery (unfortunately they didn't have 6 speed 135i's at the performance center) and found the two way paddles to be anti-intuitive compared to the one way paddles on the new 128i. If I remember correctly, the right paddle is upshift and the left is downshift. I also like the look of the new paddles compared to the old style ones, less bulky for sure. Just thought I would pass this on to any prospective 2011 128i step buyers!

Garage List
Are the paddles mounted to the steering column or to the wheel? The DSG paddles in my GTI were right for upshift, left for downshift, but they rotated with the wheel, so I almost always found myself slapping the gear shifter, rather than hunting around for the paddles.

Sorry I had to say it. "Beamer" is the motorcycle & "Bimmer" is the car.
Being a BMW CCA member, a new guy with a E46 came to a meeting and said hey guys check out my "beamer"! Our chapter vice president chimed in saying: "Hey, welcome, first off...it's "Bimmer" not "Beamer". Then he went on explaining the difference. It's a immediate thing in Our CCA chapter...you will get corrected.

Both terms sound horribly douchy IMO.

It's that kind of shit that keeps me out of BMWCCA.

Dude, It's just proper grammar. All those years without a 20% discount, very sad.
