I read on the internet that your car would have no torque if you merged that far forward. So clearly you've edited that video and it is a lie.

So you have no mufflers or resonators at all then? Or is that the front muffler/resonator gone and the rear one still remains? Sounds great btw.

We left the cats, but just straight piped it basically from the second set of cats back. No mufflers or resonators.

Cool, hows the sound level? I can only assume there is some highway drone, is it really annoying or is it tolerable?

Oh me too, so watch him copy inch for inch what Kgolf is doing, because he has so much faith in how things should be done. Just like everything else he post, zero real world experience, zero facts, and ZERO results.

I know I was right, the results speak for themselves.

The drone isn't too bad, it's only annoying at 80+.

It's the best thing I've done so far and the cheapest.

Thinking of replacing the secondary cats with AR20's in their place. Seems like the best place to fit them and also increase flow a little. Only afraid of more fumes.

From what I read on the e46 forums, two AR20's remove all rasp and the rest of the exhaust has no resonator. So I figure if the AR20's serve their purpose, I will either hack off the stock resonator or replace it with SS pipes.

If I'm in over my head, someone call me out before I waste my money

how much was it? Had my resonators deleted but kept the mufflers and i didn't like it too much. Your car sounds great though, I'll give it another shot.

Thanks dude, the cost of the resonator delete / muffler was $150

You may increase flow but the secondary cats are likely a very low cell cat so I'm not sure how much of a gain you'll get out of just replacing them with AR20 resonators but if it's just a reduction in rasp you're after I have no experience with those parts.

The in cabin video is a lot quieter than in real life. The drone doesn't sound too bad, but trust me, it's there. I wouldn't recommend this set up for daily driving.

Today I put on a 135i muffler with the vacuum line attached and wow is the car quiet. I'd say it's around 25-30% louder than a full stock 128i exhaust and quieter than just a PE exhaust. The car is also less stinky in the rear. I'll see if I can get some videos with it. I guess the middle ground between these two is the AA muffler. If only we could get our hands on it
Could you PLEASE post some vids with the 135 exhaust? I've been searching forever for someone with this combo and it's hard to get any ideas. I currently have the 135 muffler with the vacuum line plugged (golf tee mod) and it's a nice improvement from stock 128. Deep tones below 3K rpm, some light burbling and popping on the overrun, and no drone whatsoever. I feel like adding the AA headers will give it a slight edge but still be very civilized.

Try plugging the vacuum line you'll gain a bit more sound and character, you might like it that way. But please post a video if you can either way! Thanks!
