Random pieces - schmeidmann

Just wanted to share something..

I was trying to find a few random parts that weren't easily (or cheaply) found elsewhere. I turned to schmeidmann who came through.

Shipping was about 90$ AUD. And it got delivered in 5 days (shipped wed, arrived mon). If you need random parts that you can't find elsewhere they were helpful and came through, and were packed well.

Fyi the parts I was looking for were some random bolts / nuts, tubing and a piece for the ppk2 that wasn't properly described anywhere and I took a gamble to help the community (will share what I learnt later).

Also they gave me no hassles purchasing as a foreigner.

I buy almost all of my genuine parts through them, always the cheapest and better shipping costs compared to ECS who's shipping is outrageous...and if they aren't on the site I email Jacob a part no. and he sorts it out. Never had any issues and always well packaged

Have bought many things from there, including large items. Haven't had any issues yet, only thing is their online shipping quote is not accurate, generally they'll email you with a revised shipping quote.

Yup.. Well I emailed and didn't use the site. It's good if you don't need anything fast. There are local suppliers like jd75 who can help when you need something quickly.

I didn't mention how long it actually took to find the stuff etc, it took weeks. That was just from ordering, the back and forth took atleast a week too.

I have used them a number of times without issues, although complex orders can perplex them at the best of times.

I always go FCP euro, schmeidmann has decent prices for some stuff but man, their website sucks in comparison! Just looks dated and is hard to navigate

FCP's shipping calculator is strange sometimes, it works to your advantage or can screw you over. If you order a massive box of stuff their calculator doesn't usually bump it above 35usd or so.

But once I added a 3 gram tiny circlip to the cart and it bumped it up another 20 usd or so. If I added other, more heavier components it didn't bump the price, but the circlip cost another $20 to ship haha.

Haven't ordered from ECS tuning in a while cos their shipping rates are terrible.
