My car gave up at 5200 rpm a few times today
In my last session on track today, three or four or times I was wide open throttle on a straight and my car stopped accelerating at 5200 rpm. It didn't happen yesterday or in previous sessions today.
My oil temp was 260, water temp was 206. I started the session with a little less than 1/2 tank of gas. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? Is it the HPFP? I had the recall work done several months ago. |

Forgive me if this is a dumb thought, but how much gas did you have on these last runs?
Did the car give out when accelerating out of a turn? I am still learning these cars, do they have baffled fuel tanks? If not, you may very well have sloshed most of the fuel away from the pump, thus it wasn't getting enough to the motor so it cut out. If this is plausible, it may explain why you got no codes. Just a thought. |

Well I was thinking it could be some kind of fuel starvation. I started the run with a little less than 1/2 tank and ended below 1/4. If I don't find some other cause, I'll try gassing up before each run.

Mine does this as well, It's like the power just cuts out. I have a cobb, doesn't do it all the time but i'd say about 40% of the time I'm at WOT or 75% WOT... Haven't downloaded codes, but I have had my injectors and HPFP replaced. I took it into the dealer about 2 weeks ago for scheduled maintenance and mentioned the problem. After a couple test drives they identified a vacuum leak as the culprit. Kind of sucks, I'm not sure what to do. Guess I should start by downloading the codes... Anyone have other theories?

Running near red line for 20-30 min with low fuel level on these cars is asking for fuel starvation or HPFP issues. I never start my track session with less then 1/2 tank.
