Vert window creaking ??
Seems I get a bit of creaking noise when the window is up, seated against the rubber gasket.(vert top up)
Happens when ever the car goes over some bumps or uneven road surfaces. Might be more apparent in colder temps! Anyone else hear this? Common vert idiosyncrasy that I gotta learn to live with? Anyone know if there is some type of lubricant which will reduce this noise? If so what? Maybe the rubber is stiffining up? I do sorta remember reading that there is some gasket lube which keeps rubber plyable. I also think I should not use a petro based substance on them. Any help/suggestions are appreicated. |

No creaking, but I treated mine with Gummi Pflege a month or so after taking delivery last May - so I guess it works.
Also, I've been using it on my E46 twice yearly and haven't encountered the window regulator problems common to that model. Tom |

Mine started doing this during the summer. Its starting to get colder now so I'm not sure it is weather or temperature related.

Seems to be worst at temps between 40-60. Dont really notice it when above 60. So dont think its a alignment issue. Def do NOT want to try something like WD-40. Quote:
I think its because of both age, drying out the rubber a bit, as well as contraction and expansion with tempeture variations. |
