I went, I paid: and drove home in a 320i
Was to pick up car at 1pm at Brisbane BMW, Paid for car, signed paperwork and then they took me to see the car?? No window tint I paid for it, just somebody forgot to do it? "Take the car and bring it back sometime to have it tinted" :bs:They are tinting it this arvo and will pick up tomorrow. I do own the car and have 1 key with me so I could be the first to own a 135i in Australia?? Or do I have to drive it first??
The LeMans Blue looked great, sunlight on the front 1/2 of the car showed the different tones of the blue paint, changes from a sparkling bright blue thru to a midnight blue/black in the shadows.

Then unless Richard has his car, I WIN ( Not that it is a competition. Not!)
Drove out of BMW Melbourne at 5pm, in the Sparkling Graphite Beauty. Love the colour. The Black Euro plates look great on the dark car. Recommend to all considering Euro style with Black / Grey especially. Too much on silver, don't know about white. Photos of the car: First thing this morning at BMW when I dropped off the plates. Finally, a shot at home, once kids to bed etc. Beast! :roundel::roundel::roundel::roundel::roundel:

Swift. I do truly believe that you are the honourable winner. Apart from your incompetent dealer, you would've been able to fang to Melb and back before I got mine.
Sorry you have to cool your heels for a day.

Finally the pics. i am a dumb arse!
Immediate Impressions 1/ Engine: You've heard it all. Nothing to add. Brilliant. Can cruise @ 60 in fifth- 1500rpms, through roundabouts, just keeps pulling. Haven't gone over 4000rpm, hit 120 in a flash. (Going to love Alexandra Ave-Eastern Freeway entrance). 2/ Pedals-footwell a little cramped and slightly off centre to seat. Pedals close together and will take getting used to. 3/ Seat has to be set low. I like high driving position, but I end up getting close to roof (note: sunroof taking up some *******, and top of steering wheel cuts off top of instrument display. Will take a bit of fiddling to get right. 4/ Seats comfy. but have a strange "seam" sensation on occasions. Can't explain it. 5/ Love Comfort Access. Wanker is as wanker does  6/ Seat belt is a long reach back. I might have to get used to having the seat a little back and drive with legs more extended. 7/ Love the manual stick, but the CDV might have to go. That's all that comes to mind for now.

Congrats dodgy! Glad you have your car. Sounds like you are well and truly chuffed with it.
When I sat in the car yesterday, I didn't notice the cramped footwell, but then I'm a short arsed asian  Already used to the off centre pedals when i was driving my friend's old Porsche around. I miss that ultra heavy clutch... I found that the seats, at the lowest setting was pretty high too, just like my GTI (and I am still a short arse) As for the seat belts, did you try reaching back with your right hand and grabbing it from the bottom instead of turning your whole body around? That's the trick I use for all the 2 door cars I've had and it works very well.. Think of the action like you are trying to fondle your gf's knee sitting behind you |

It's a shame the 1 coupe doesn't have those little slider arms that brings the seatbelt to you, like the e92, though I'm kinda used to it with the TT Well done mate, look foward to hearing more about your lover affair with this car!

Had the day off work and spent the entire day driving through the Gold Coast hinterland. Absolutely magic. There's lots I could say on the driving experience...but it's probably all been said before in the main forum etc. Suffice to say, the car is awesome and you will not be disappointed! What makes the biggest impression for me is how the 'whole package' is spot on...the engine, the handling, the steering, the interior, the exterior...everything comes together to make this a truly exceptional car. And then you factor in the price too - it's got to be the best value new BMW going. By the way, the Performance wheels look stunning with SGM! |

Here's a great tip for the seat belt. Do NOT reach up over your shoulder for the belt. Reach down beside the seat as if you were going to adjust the seat, and swing your arm back. The seat belt is a very easy reach this way. CDV IS a must to go. |
