I was on waiting list at Pacific until after 3 months of no call and promise of May delivery, they wanted to slap a mark up on me in May without even start of production.

Time to find more info :P

Lol, they could get 5-10k markup pretty easy in SoCal but man either the sales person didn't like you on the phone or they are crazy.

I couldn't stop laughing, he of course said I could make an offer but the price on the car now include a $40,000 markup over the $54,625 base. I told him I was not interested in anything over MSRP.

WOW. I could get an M3 Competition package with $20K leftover.

We should keep calling the dealership asking what they want for it then laugh and hang up on them. Over and over and over again.

I am sure if you offered 5k over msrp they would have considered it. It's the first day and they probably have gotten 5+ calls about it so they figured lets just mark it up super high and they will come down once it isn't selling. But it will go 5-10k over MSRP because people are willing to pay it instead of wait 3+ months.

I decided to have a chat with Serj over there he swore on HIS life that no 1M ever sold for MSRP.

I got a better deal than you! he said he would only have a markup of 20k.

40K Markup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I would just bring em the MSRP contracts and show it to all the potential buyers. Let that 1M rot in that show room.

5-10K over is the going rate for 1ms in the show room in Cali, let see how long that will last.

Sure is, that last one that was posted here went for 5k in a matter of hours. Then there is another post by a dealer in long beach on the M3 forums saying their 1M went for 7.5k so its happening.

I was there at 10am and the window had no mark up. I asked are you guys selling at sticker. I was shocked because Pacific always marks up. The Guy replies 40k so its 95k. I smiled and said I paid 40k for this. He looks at me and says this is not a 1 series. I just smiled and said "I know im picking mine up in Munich"

That's why I will never buy a car from Pacific BMW, and up until 3 months ago I lived 3 miles from them. I bought my 3 series at Center BMW and we bought our 1M at South Bay BMW, which is significantly farther than Pacific.

Yeah unfortunately it is happening. I heard all the allocations at New Century are all spoken for, all at mark-ups, but the SA could be pulling my chain. I'm curious to know how long the madness will continue?

Center actually is a pretty good dealer. They let their first 1M go for 1k over invoice due to not knowing much about it. But I am not sure how many allocations they have left now and what they are charging for the rest. Most likely MSRP or even a mark up due to their first mistake.

Actually, he's kinda right, because some 1M's also have been sold under MSRP. Ignorance is bliss...

Maybe they are selling a M1. I'd hit that bid for that car any day of the week
