Need advice--fuel pump?
Can someone watch this video and give me a few ideas on what I should tell the dealership to check for?
It has had this very erratic idle on 3 different occasions in the past 10k miles but it won't throw a check engine light so the dealer says everything checks out. It generally will resolve after I let the car sit for a bit. Also, I recently had the charge pipe replaced and now the car runs at ~85% of the prior performance. The drop in performance is so subtle the dealer says it drives fine however I can feel hesitation when I shift gears--almost like it has more turbo lag than usual. Thoughts???? Are the two things related? Thanks in advance-- Vivek |

Coils, plugs, injectors or HPFP.
Had a same issue and resolved it with plugs changing. As i know injectors and HPFP issues should turn on check engine light Old plugs: |

Thanks for the input guys. All scheduled services are up to date and the car is stock with the exception of the dealer installed exhaust. It sounds like they are going to change the plugs and go from there. It's a bit unfortunate in terms of timing as my warranty ran out last week. They assure me that I will be take care of regardless yet they cannot find anything wrong since the car is not throwing a code. I appreciate your input!

Wow that's really rough! As above, coils, plugs or injectors, possibly HPFP but they should go through one by one and eliminate each. No codes aside, it's very disappointing that you can take a car running that badly into a dealership that apparently specialises in that make of vehicle and they send you on your way, unable to assist.
Charge pipe - possibly related yes, have all the connection checked for vacuum leaks but even so it shouldn't cause a missfire (vacuum leak will usually cause the idle to 'hunt' around (rise/fall)). If it's leaking boost the boost the engine sees will be reduced thus your power will also be reduced. |

The rough idle has only occurred on three occasions then quickly resolves so it's hard to say if it's really fixed. The plugs were changed so we will see what happens. The turbo lag is still apparent after the charge pipe was changed and it never did this before. I'm wondering if they installed it incorrectly. I am going to have the shop foreman drive it soon and I will provide updates accordingly. Thanks again for all of your help!
