that better be just black tape all over that outline of the rear window cuz they're totally covering up that grafenberg whatever bend... and i was wondering how off it looked and started coming it to a pic of the 'old' 3 coupe thinking why it looked better around that area.

Hmmmm I also just noticed that the kidney grills have those eyebrow things above them. They should have changed that IMO.

This last pictures, although still camouflaged, show how acurate the last photoshop is. We sould practically say that we've seen it. Now we need pictures of the interior, which I think it's going to resemble almost entirely the E90.
It is in sum, for all its design qualities, superb. I'm pretty sure that it's sex appeal will be greater when we get acquainted with it's performance.

I love the front/side. I have bad feeling about the rear though.....

IMHO
The twin grilles will mimic the 6 series without a doubt. The famous lids of the E90 are there to emphazise the continuity of the curves of each grill beyond the cutting line of the hood. The E92, features a sportier thin trim of chrome, that IMO, super-imposses its sprot character over elegance. Contrary to the E90. The Hoffmeister Kink it's an attribute to the 3 series and every other BMW. Without it, BMW would be like a Mona Lisa without her hands. The headlamps remind me slighfully of those in a I300, but used more modestly, without shadowing the entire front. Lastly, the folding lines that remark the sides through the doors, handle, and up to the rear lights, is used to frame the air intake kidneys. Behing these, is where the soul of the car resides and what makes it a BMW: it's engine.

Do the lines that go down the side of the coupe look less flared in this pic than the rear view of the black one from last week? or is it just the angles of the shots?
Also, imo, this looks way better than those hideous silver ps pics with the little headlights. |

does anyone know or think if the 5series-esque grille depicted in the pic 'TravertineEye' posted of the possible M3, could be a minor update for the 2007 model??

Scanned a better picture from Autocar. Looking at the photo in person you can definitely tell the lights are not photoshopped, it's the real deal... and it looks damn good to my eye

well, there was no way i was gonna remember what kind of 'kink' it was last night, so the grafenberg for ahem whatever reason I did... was looking for you smarty people to help me out because i knew I was close enough... and that sure did happen as planned still, wonder why ol' mister H didn't call it a 'bend' or a curve... but a 'kink'? Wish Freud was around. |

wow jason, nicer scan there... looks like this one's a dark blue, not a black eh. or is it merely a tint of the whole picture. That's one muy caliente behind.
why's it got exhaust smoke out of the right tailpipe but not the left. also in comparison to the e90, it looks like that flamesurface that cuts through the door handles of the e92 is a different kind of sheetmetal cut. the e90's creates a shadow, on the e92, it doesn't appear to do so. |
