ED is f***ing sweet (pics)
2 weeks in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Austria
Picked up the car in Munich. It is now named der Gewitterwolke. Drove straight to Nürburg. Stayed a the Ringhaus (hotel Altes Forsthaus), which was an incredibly comfortable and convenient place to stay (walking distance from the entry gate and Nürburg). Walked around town: The ring taxi was on display: Went on a beer run to Brussels Das Booty from the beer run Took my first lap (VID) Did some spectating: Went to Berlin: saw some more cars there: Went to Ingolstadt Went to the Audi Museum Back to the Welt to use my remaining cafe credit Back to Munich to the BMW Museum Went to Dachau Saw this flat brown X6 on the A9 Back to Munich Went to Salzburg Back to Munich Farewell wash My surrogate until the boat gets here: |

Nice trip. I wish I could have spent more time at the 'ring when I was there. That's really cool that you found a shot of your car on the 'ring cam. I wasn't as lucky. Unfortunately, the BMW museum was closed when I was there. It looks pretty impressive.

The BMW museum looks a lot better from your pics from when I was there. They only had about 10 cars and something I allotted about 5 hours for ended up taking me only 1. I almost want to buy another car just so I can do ED.

Awesome trip. Saw that you visited Augusteiner, one of the best beers in Munich. We visited their main Biergarten for brunch and it was unbelievable. Nothing like a Weissbier at 11am

yeah, ED is definitely the way to go. Even though I am completely in love with the new car, I am already calculating the hows and whens of the next one. Will definitely try to make it back to the ring sometime soon - 2 laps is not enough. Driving the Autobahn was definitely more, um, engaging than regular US highway driving. It was kind of a surreal feeling slowing down to 160kph/100mph. Thx for the compliments on the pix, I am still sorting through the vids that I took at the ring, will youtube those and post them up when I get free time. I saw some truly bad ass fire-breathing cars there.

Hell yeah that Eisbock is strong. I had 0.5l of the regular Aventinus and two of the Eisbocks and I was glad I was only 2 stops away from the Hotel on the S-Bahn. Went to sleep very quickly that night. |
