People who go to smaller sized rims
I like the look of smaller rims but would I be crazy to go smaller?
Where did it originate from, the JDM mod scene or? I think these are 17s? http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...14&postcount=2 I am thinking about getting BBS LMs but dunno what size I should get. I am gonna keep my car stock ride height. Gloss black grill, 5% tints.

I expect to get ridiculed, but I feel my 135i handles better with my winter wheels/winter tires (BMW 17" wheels , 205/50 17 tires) than with the 261 wheels/Dunlop tires that came with the M sport package.

What wheels? Could just be from a squared setup in this case.

That's not to say we can't buy some nice forged 18's if we can justify the $$$, and have them be lighter than most 17's out there. I say to each their own!

Given that they are stock wheels, they are probably 2lbs lighter per wheel. 8lbs of unsprung weight saved is nothing to sneeze at!

so 8 pounds is equal to about 64 lbs. once upon a time, i had 29lb really heavy OZ 18" wheels on my TT.....i then switched to lightweight 18lb SSR Type C wheels. Saving me 11 lbs per corner....44 lbs total. Just use the 8x factory and imaging how much lighter it felt. The car felt TOTALLY different.....i was blown away. |

Can someone tell me the size in the linked picture, I like that size and definitely would not want to go any bigger, I have a feeling the style of rim is only making it look smaller though and that they are 18s??

The ones in your first post look like 18". The stepped lip design makes them look smaller, but its just an illusion.
