Anyone know why that is, and if there's something that can be done to avoid it??
I always hear that in my car when in first gear and coming off the throttle. Our 335i makes a similar noise as well in 1st and 2nd when coming off the gas.

I think the system sounds nice, you can get these with the black tips like the stock right?

I'm a complete newbie to this so don't flame for asking....
Does it increase fuel consumption? I want the 123d coupe version because of its fuel consumption but I also want an aggressive look and sound.

I would say fuel consumption would not really be affected.

What about the BMW performance exhaust and Corsa. They also sound great. They are also on Youtube, check them out. The BMW performance sounds really good and would be easier to get, and its from BMW. What are your opinions ???

BMW performance ones actually sounds pretty decent imo, but the sound is still regulated by tuv, which is not applicable in US anyways. so, if you want somewhat aggressive sound like meist GT, ones will not be able to acheive the sound they want with BMW performance setup.

based on my personal experience,
Not only on turbo cars, but in general, (but noticeably on turbo cars) with free flowing exhaust setup, you will gain some in highway cruise and loose some in city traffic driving.
If you want to have the best city traffic mileage, clog up the rear muffler with smaller pipes, you shall see significant increase in fuel comsumption upto a certain level, but loss of noticeable power.
