Trunk Unlocking Switch
Hi
I have a 2009 120d and just noticed it doesn't have a trunk unlocking switch after spending an hour looking for it. Does anyone know if the wiring is there as standard if I just by the OEM part 61316921846 can I just install it myself? The switch is shown as No3 in the diagram? |

I know mine is located on the kick panel, close to where the door and panel meets. Hope that helps...

But how do you open the boot now? With the key fob only? I think there should be a switch in the car. Take it in to a dealer just to be sure.

That is strange. I didn't know that it was an option. Mine is next to the hood/bonnet release lever. The wiring harness should be in the general area.

Very odd. I would think that they harness should still be there.

Please can you update when you find out? It seems like BMW did away with a lot of the extra harness parts on cars that don't have the options. For example as far as I know none of the harness is there for the auto dimming garage door opener mirror on cars that didn't have it from the factory.

AFAIK UK spec cars don't come with a trunk unlock button, you either need to press the button on the remote or the unlock button on the dash.
My 123d is also minus the button.

At least its not just my car that doesn't have one. I'm not going to play around down there to see if there is wiring until I get hold of switch to go in there. No luck at the moment

It would be nice to have one but I think the removal of the button is something associated with the remote key only opening the boot once the doors are unlocked.
