Issues with convertible rear window visibility?

Is there anyone else thinks the rear window in the 1 series convertible is way too small? The designers should go back to design school. We traded in our three series convertible for a new one series and can't believe the difference in design, nor the difference in what BMW considers basic versus optional. Maybe this will be fixed in the two series but the one series convertible window is too small to the point you can't see out the rear view mirror, the ergonomics for the controls are all screwed up (forget the radio controls!). It's just not the same level of engineering as the three series at all.

E93s have a folding metal roof that allows for a large, full frame glass window. E88s have a soft folding top that would not hold the weight of such a large glass pane. I agree it's awful visibility wise, but i'm not quite sure what you were expecting. Only way BMW is fitting a big glass pane the vert is by making the roof metal, and extremely heavy. I don't want a 3900lb E8x, you shouldn't either!

No. I don't. Its more than large enough for driving. Set your wing mirrors wide and you won't have a blind spot

I beg to differ, I just popped mine out of 2013 135is to fit a child seat. Are you referring to roll-over loops?

That's a bummer, sorry man! I would have passed on mine if headrests didn't come out, just because my lil' guys seat wouldn't have fit right.

Learn something new every day, I wonder what MY the change was made...
