SA Says I'm not allowed to have my service records?
Hey, @ the dealership today for the battery cable recall, and asked my guy if he could print out a record of every single repair/maintenance on my car. He had a print out of it already and said he could go over it with me, but not give me a print out for confidentiality reasons...
What's that about? I'm not allowed to have documentation of the work done on my own car?? |

What a jackass. As long as the previous owners personally info isn't on there he should give it to you.

Have been dealing with him, he is a nice guy. It must be because there was work done under the previous owner. That's gotta be it, didn't realize that at first

Ive heard that before too. I usually ask for it though during the sell as a negotiation point. your salesman wont let the sale go just some stupid policy. I have mine and how much it was originally purchased for.

It must be dealer's discretion, my local dealer emailed me the entire history, a number of pdf's, of my car when I bought it used. It wasn't real exciting or anything so i wouldn't sweat it either way, but they seemed to think it was just fine.

Call BMW North America and have them change the VIN to your name - then when they pull it up everything will come up under your name and not his.
I just had them pull all the warranty work on my car - the owner had it until Warranty and then sold it to me, so now I have full history. |
