Rear Performance Rotors

I was in the parts dept of one of the Sydney dealers last Friday discussing the availability of Performance parts in Aust, and he surprised me by telling that there are now performance rotors for the rear of a 135 - i believe they are drilled and/ or slotted.

Looking on realOEM, it doesn't show anything, but I saw it on the dealer screen, so maybe RealOEM is just a little behind on some items. I also can't get it on the "United" web site. Maybe is only new.

The p/n is 34216795754.

Also, FWIW, the similar front rotors are >$A400 per rotor - not per pair. Seems a lot to me, especially when they are available from the US for ~ $us150 each rotor. At 0.90 exchange rate, that's about $A170 a side, plus shipping.

I hope you're right! I will buy these as soon as they're available if so.

Shipping to AUS for the rotors was quite expensive last time I checked. But may look into it again, thanks for the update!

You're right. Don't know what the weight is, but not light. So shipping would be high.

I was actually thinking of bringing them in as "hand luggage". I go to the US fairly regularly, so that'd be easy.

Alternatively, if you have someone coming in from the US, excess baggage may be cheaper than freight.

Just checked my old PM's from United, it will cost $250US to post to Brisbane... EACH rotor!

So if the rotors are $150US each, then it is going to cost about $900 AUD to land.

Maybe that's BMW Australia's pricing strategy. Work out the price for us to land them from the US, add a bit, and there you have the local price.

I think I was quoted ~$450/$460 per rotor last week.

Really? I think I was quoted something like $1200 but that was a while ago. Back then it wasn't worth importing them, but now could be. But if you can buy them from BMW Aus for $450 each then might as well do that!

That was from Trivett Parts at Rydalmere.

Unless the guy doing the "keyboard work" got it wrong - always possible.

Are they the same rotors as the 335's? if so, check out DBA's range as they have them.

Got some 4000's for my GTR for around 200-250 each for the front (cant remember exact price) from repco. With the rears being smaller you think they'd be cheaper.

Here's the info from the catalogue, they can come in slotted in cross drilled, rears are only available in the 4000 series, while the fronts can be done in the 5000.

yeah dunno, just throwing out that idea because I've owned 3 different Nissans (R32 Skyline, R33 Skyline GTR and C34 Stagea) and alot of the parts are exactly the same, often they just have a slightly different code. BMW probably do the same to cut down costs.

Nah! they are different dimensions

335 - Fronts are 348x30 ---- rears are 336x22
135 - Fronts are 338x26 ---- rears are 324x22

may still be worth a call to DBA though

Look at the pics of that allegedly 1 series supersport. It has vented rear rotors like this.
