Car Weight Thread
Seeing as I just dropped into a weigh station(nice idea Axiom), I figured it would be a good idea to kick off a car weight thread.
Weight: ~3030lbs Scale: Highway weigh station Car: 128i Options: M-Sport, xenons, comfort access Transmission: Manual Sunroof delete: Yes Fuel: 7/8ths tank Weight savings: BBS RG-Rs and PSS The slight estimation comes from subtracting my weight, passenger weight, and the few bits in the car. Still, shouldn't be more than +/-10lbs.

How does that work? Aren't those for the big 18-wheelers? Nobody hassles you if you drive your car in there to get it weighed?

Niice. Did you have to notify the station operator before you rolled on?

Oh, forgot to say 3030lb is fantastic. I'm really curious about my own car weight now. It won't be nearly as light since I have sunroof, idrive, and hk speakers but I'm curious anyways.

I just rolled up. No one seemed to mind. The weigh station displayed the number on the side of the building.

OP I think your weight estimate is a bit on the low side.
Anyways, my weight Model: EZ-Weigh Scale (model # pictured) Weight: 3052 lbs Stock Options: M-Sport, No Sunroof, Manual Heated Seats Transmission: Manual Gas: 1/4 Tank Windshield Tank: Essentially empty Lightweight mods: Apex ARC8 17x8.5 with 245/40 Dunlop Z2s That was past, Now I have a muffler delete and will be installing Recaro SPGs this week. I'll be able to get weight at the beginning of September on the same scales |

Oh, truck scales will round the number (from what I saw) so, that could be why the weights may be off from what you've recorded. Still, that's light as hell, glad to see someone else tried using the truck scales besides me.

Any idea how much rounding they do?
But yeah, as I said, probably +/-10lbs or so. My weight was assuming no passengers/luggage. And KGolf31, you are N51 right?

I'm figuring after seats to hopefully be around 2950. I think it is impossible to be FRS/BRZ weight in street trim. |

N51 does use a different gas tank, has a secondary air pump for emissions, and other random bits. No idea on the total impact.

Another way you may be able to get the weight is at the dump. I've only gone to the actual local county dump once. I was disposing of dock floats which I couldn't do at the local trash centers. I am a county resident so they didn't charge me but normally it is by weight. The weigh the vehicle going in and coming out. You get out first - so you wouldn't have to adjust for that. I was driving my SUV when I went. Maybe I should go back in the e88.

Arguably that depends on which race seat you go with

Remember, they are fixed back. So that opens a whole other can of worms.

Don't you need harnesses then? So add in the weight of those, harness bar and/or a half cage in the rear?
