My 2011 deep sea blue 128i
Just got my new car yesterday. First time ever I have to taste the new car smell like that. The "new car" smell is so strong that it covers the oil smell left by the wrenching on the E36. I'm very happy with my choice, I wouldn't mind having to drive that car for the next 20 years. When came the time to order it, I couldn't find the car I wanted in the dealers inventory and for that price I wasn't going to make any compromise so I had to order it and wait, ordered February 9th. The car is deep sea blue with taupe interior, I wished I could have got the savanna beige leather, but apparently in Canada we get f****d not only on the price, but on the options also. I console myself by thinking the leatherette usually lasts longer than leather. I had a little radio jitter bug today, kinda troubling for a brand new car, but I trust the dealer to fix it if it ever happens again. The brakes are sensitive as hell compared to the other cars I drive these days. I will have to watch my speed , it's so quiet in the car that I found myself going a little too much over the limit without noticing much. The 128i is plenty enough power for the streets, I feel like too much power untapped is insulting for the car. How can you drive a 135i or an M3 and keep your license? My first mod will be to cover that chrome window's trim with some black gloss vinyl I got from bmwshadowline. Here are some pictures, more to come...

I don't know, . I went that week, they told me I had to sign right now so they could reserve it for the March production, the price and wasn't fixed. Honestly I didn't expect it until May. I went to check March 10th if I remember right and the car was already done and ready to board the ship. Maybe I got it faster because of some options or color, yours is a 135i also.

Sports package, mainly for the seats. I would take the standard suspension and wheels because of the bad roads we have over here, but I'll deal with it . I feel every bump and potholes, it's like a war zone over here, no wonder there is so many X3-5. Also got the premium package for the sunroof.

I guess canada is different.... the sport package has the shadowline trim in the US....
Personally I like the chrome, it breaks up the dark color of the car. btw I love the interior, I want the taupe leather/leatherette in my next 1er. GL with the car it is awesome. |

Lucky guy, that's a great looking car! Mine is supposed to arraive at the Port of San Diego in one week. The wait is killing me.
Thanks for posting the pictures; those are the first actual photos I've seen of a 2011. I can't tell from those pics, are the turn signals or the dash appearance any different than the 2010's? You didn't get navigation, but does anyone else know if the way the display sits in/on the dask look any different than last year? |

I have this exact color combo, except none sport. The only thing I don't like is the color looks dirty quick. But right now we have tons of pollen in the air.

Contratulations. I love the color! I'm doing an ED pickup of a Deep Sea Blue 135i in a few weeks, and I've noticed how unusual this car is. These are the first pictures of DSB 1 series I have found anywhere on the 'net, and I've never seen one in the wild.
Of course, I'm also amazed at how unusual the 1 series is on the road at all, at least where I live. I might see 40 3-series a day, and one 1-series a week on the road. One of the reasons I love the 1 series. Car looks awesome, hope you enjoy it. Get some more pics up, will ya? Steve |

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I'm very happy with the car. I still have to figure out if I like or not all the driving assists. I have the habit of making the rear slide just a little in the rain with my 325, but when I do this with that car it applies all the assists . I will have to find out if I prefer DTC or with everything off.

Congrats on the new one. Nice color. I agree with your plenty of power comment. The 128 doesn't get much love on this board.

Nice car The 128i is awesome and yea there's plenty of power under the hood. Rev it to it's redline going up Du Vallon in the tunnel near the U with all windows open. Sounds like a racer

Thanks again for all the nice comments.
It's been a month now since I took possession of it and I don't regret it one second, such a wonderful machine. It now has close to 1500Kms, still smells new . Got a lots of nice comments about the car... and my financial situation I came from E36s, which I still drive and keep to go on the track eventually . I have 3 BMWs around the house, I think the neighbors know by now I'm a BMW hoarder . Both my 128 and 325 sound fabulous, I love those NA inline 6s, especially in the tunnels. All the driving assistance makes it a joke to go WOT in the curves, I kinda like it, I love to see the /!\ activate, it means I drive it like it should . |
