Wow! Didn't realize how much pain and suffering people have gone through since my first post. Seems that people are getting close... is there a way for you guys to verify by bringing it in to the dealer and having them do the rest or do they not know?

The dealers, at least those in Central PA, want nothing to do with this conversion. I dropped by 3 different dealers, all of which told me it was too labor intensive. Made an appt. with a shop that has Autologic, will let you know how that goes.

hi all

i am almost there for a bmw E91 3 series 320D 2007/10

but the coding was done by bmw dealer

they do not know how to connect the retrofit cable that is sold by bmw to do the retrofiting xenon lci and tail light lci

see here

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513380

http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...enon_lci_2008/

the tail light cables are easy guessing they come with plugs

but the headlights xenon cable come with pins and i dont know for sure where to connect in FRM3

in the lights for sure is pin 1 and pin 7
pin 1 angel eyes and pin 7 3 orange side lights

they sell and dont give instructions to the local dealers

best regards all hope this is solved for good

Yeah, its definitely self inflicted torture. There is way more to it than just taping a few wires and bobs your uncle; at least if you want oem quality. Dealers do not want to know about things like this, at least not in my country.

I would say that it is very labor intensive! That is if you install the level senors and headlamp washers, which are a legal requirement where I am. You have to pull the car almost apart to get the wiring harness in.

I am doing all the install myself and once complete, I will get a local workshop with SSS or autologic to code the new FRM.

I spent about a year plus in between my SF training building and designing this harness, I don't sell stuff here on bimmerpost because i don't have time to do it. So w/o a vendor account I have not done conversions or sold anything (it doesn't make sense to pay if I'm not doing it full time) I gave multiple prototypes to jay because my medical training is just more important then designing BMW products right now.

When I get done in January I may have more time to design and make prototypes of new products.

Good luck, and I hope everything works out.

I guess he has the harness just plugs in between your light and harness as a middle relay to converts them OEM with no errors. just htoght i shared after ordering one from him last night. its cheaper than the retrofit sold bmw and he explained it, all he did was shortened that retrofit to make it work bc he and damon didnt see the use to install all those wires when its not necessary. just a thought for those looking. www.***************.com i spoke to jay from the company
Has this been confirmed to work on the 1-series? I think that's been the problem; i.e., the E9X cars are different from the E8X cars and not everything translates exactly.

So he's making you a custom 1-series harness and you haven't actually done the install yet?

Project M has done a few E9x conversions (halogen to pre lci and lci). I sent Jay an email as well. Tried coding but seem to need a new footwell module for it to 'take'. Not to mention running add'l wires from the module to the lights to enable the high beam shutter. Those Germans don't make it easy

He isn't making me harnesses, I am the original designer of the error free harness. I can build a harness for any model w/o running wires to the footwell module.

I mentioned earlier that I stopped designing an building harnesses because I have been knees deep in medicine.

I would think you need a new footwell module...

Just finished installing the last ride height sensor for my retrofit today. Such a relief that it all works and no error. Just waiting on the parts for the headlamp washers and will be installing that next - its nowhere as hard as the stuff I have just done (I installed everything myself and also did the coding).
