Can someone recommend a nice moderately priced hotel for ED Welt Pickup?

Ok, the Sheraton is the closest but several people say it's terrible. LeMeridien is too expensive. Anyone have any recommendations for something decent but not too expensive? Something in the 80-120 Euro range?

Or has someone here stayed at the Sheraton and thought it was OK for a couple of days?

Thanks.

I just stayed at the Kings Hotel First Class but booked it through the web (it was cheaper than the offer on the ED marketing materials). Most comfortable I ever slept in in Europe! Also they had a nespresso machine in the room and the shower had good pressure. Parking was a little tight I'm amazed BMW would recommend the hotel for people that just picked up a brand new car but I might have just been exaggerating. I recommend it for sure and paid $140 so about 100€.

^^ just finished my euro vacation, stayed at Holiday Inn in Munich about 10min or less to Welt, it was one of the cheapest and not bad compare to other stupid 3 to 4 star hotel. Only thing bad I would say is the parking fee at their garage underneath.

I've stayed at the Tryp Munchen before and thought it was alright. Some of the rooms are pretty small though and the spaces in the parking garage are tight. It is a block away from a U-bahn station though, which can take you right to BMW Welt.

My wife & I stayed one night at the Sheraton Four Points when I did my ED early morning on June 6. The hotel wasn't memorable by any means but I would hardly describe it as terrible either. And we are pretty picky with hotels & have stayed in several 4 & 5-star places in Europe by comparison.

Oh, the hotel "restaurant" (had a small menu but no actual tables, you eat on the sofas & coffee tables which was odd) DID have the biggest motherf--in' burger patty I have ever eaten...must've been a good half-pound after cooking. And the fries were actually quite good too

Have a great time doing ED!

Already did that, that's why I'm here. Every hotel under 400 Euros, some say it's the best hotel and then others say it's the worst. Also, we have special needs since we are doing ED. For example someone just pointed out that one hotel had really tight spaces. That is valuable ED information especially with those big flares on 1M.

Thanks for the tips. I'll chec them out.

How much was the parking fee and night stay if you don't mind sharing?

Exactly what I am doing! Booked Kings per the BMW ED Packet recommendation, but booked online as it was cheaper. Use the Greek turbulence in your favor and the (perhaps temporary) fall of the Euro and book now

Staying there for a night so don't really care much about amenities. I recon I'll have a hard time sleeping that night anyway knowing what awaits me next afternoon (2:20PM to be exact, those crazy Germans and their time keeping LOL)

I also stayed at King's Hotel in Munich. I can't remember if it was King's Hotel Center or King's Hotel First Class. Anyway, they were nice, the room was clean (small like most European big city hotels), and the price was very reasonable. I'd stay there again. Basically all I wanted was/is a clean room to sleep in; if I fly 5k miles, I'm going to spend as little time as possible in a hotel room - there are PLENTY of fine hotels MUCH closer to home!

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream.

My wife and I have been staying at B&B around Germany. (Not random bed & breakfast places, that's the actual name of the chain) Not sure if there's one in Munich, but the few we've stayed at have been clean and well-priced.

Many of the parking lots in Germany (hotel, shopping center, etc.) have VERY tight parking. I parked on the street, much of the time, cause I just couldn't bring myself to squeeze into one of those spaces, and come out to a door ding on my brand new car. Having said that, I suspect Germans are more considerate of cars than your average American, so they're probably more careful getting in and out.

BMW Welt is located right next to a subway station, so you can get there easily from pretty much anywhere in the city.

Oh, and while you're there, be sure to ask for the GERMAN 1-series sales brochures IN ENGLISH! Way cool.

Looks like I am too late to reply. Ohh well.. maybe this will help someone else out. There is a nice hotel chain by the name of NH Hotels. I think they are Canadian. I stayed at the Frankfurt Hotel and was BLOWN away on how nice it was for just 110 euros per night.

Here is the NH Hotel in Munich.

http://www.nh-hotels.de/nh/de/hotels...er-kaiser.html

One other tip... most hotels give you a discount IF you prepay for a room. Now you can not cacell or get your money back. But IF you are 100% sure on where you want to stay... this is a great way to save some dough. Always ask for parking and breakfast costs too - bc this IS Germany! lol And... WLAN fees.

Another tip would be to use these search engines.

Their website was giving me problems and it said no room available but there was an error code. I started looking for other hotels on Booking.com and it popped up with a special offer that works out to $290 Euros for 3 nights. That's a pretty good deal IMO and it looks nice.

I will definitely post a review when I get back.

Thanks again for the pointer, that was exactly what I was looking for.
